Seems like a good deal for the runaway Vezina trophy winner.

Oh god we were right then we were wrong then we were right again. This is a roller coaster of emotion that I simply cannot handle.

Not suggesting he's anything but a top flight goalie, the hyperbole was getting ridiculous however.

Patrik Roy, Dominic Hasek, and every goalie not named Terry Sawchuk have had similar bad stretches. Still his (vezina) to lose IMO

Yes, but there also been countless goalies who were unbeatable, Roy-Hasek clones for a year or two, and then gone.
Not saying he's that, just saying the sample size is still TINY.

He could have another bad 5 games and it would still be Shesterkin and then every other goalie in terms of Vezina rankings.
Nice try trying to downplay it, but even with a small bad stretch, Shesterkin is still having a historic season

Short term there’s no denying his season. Long term the question will be if he’s another Binnington.

Binnington had great minor league stats. His OHL stats don’t look great on paper but they were pretty comparable to junior goalies of the time.

Shesterkin has basically been playing at a superstar level ever since he went pro when he was 18. Comparing Binnington’s junior numbers really have no relevance.
Shesterkin has put up amazing numbers in the KHL, AHL, and now NHL year over year since 2014. He’s as close to a sure bet for a goalie as there is.

Yeah Shesterkin isn't a surprise that has come out of nowhere. He was widely considered the best goalie not in the NHL until he came over.
He's a stud.

Nothing is guaranteed but he's on track to be the next great NHL goaltender.

He's been a well-above average goalie since the moment he entered the NHL and was super highly touted in the years leading up to his NHL debut.
Very unlikely

The notion that it's still too early to tell if he's a goaltending stud, yet a bad five game blip is even remotely notable is hilarious to me.

Did you see the two goals Markstrum let in last night. He also is on a stinking trend lately

LOL. Game before he was .971 and had a shutout through 60 minutes. Game before that he was fine against NJD. Game before that he had a shutout against the wings. Game before that he beat TBL, with a .968 one goal against. Game before that he beat the Oilers .964 also one goal against. Not great against the Habs, but before that, .970 against Minnie, one goal against.
Give me more of that “stinking”.
