That is a lot of prospect back pressure. It should be about to blow.

That's hardly a surprise.
draft picks to play 25 games from recent drafts
2020 2
2019 6
2018 22
and the Flames didn't have a pick until the 4th round in 2018
That's 30 fully graduated players from those three drafts, or less than one per team and the majority coming from 2018

Uhm, you sure are good at making stuff up.
Our first pick this year, Coronato, is a 13th overall pick. That's the highest we've selected since Matthew Tkachuk. Is it possible that might be why he's at the top of this list?
Our first pick last year, Zary, was a 24th overall pick. He also placed second behind Valimaki on last year's ranking, even though Valimaki was wrapping up his Draft+3 (!) year.
Our first pick in 2019, Pelettier, was a 26th overall pick. He also placed fourth in the 2019 rankings (!) behind Valimaki (2017), Dube (2016), and Kylington (2015)
Our first pick in 2018, Martin Pospisil, was a 105th overall pick. He also placed 20th in the 2019 Rankings. Feel free to check some of the names who placed ahead of him.
So much recency bias

Personally this is one of my favorite CP traditions. Thanks for keeping this going every summer!!

You're just going to double down on discrediting anyone that picks Coronato? Good strategy.
"This isn't discrediting"
- critical thinking rarely applies
- no rules to enforce critical thought
- emotional decision making
I'd hate to see you when you mean to insult someone!
Would have taken less words to just say you are smarter than most that are voting.

Good news, they don't play Vancouver for the first time until late January, so it can't possibly come true.

I am going with Pelletier for the combination of highest chance of becoming a mainstay in the middle 6 along with a moderate ceiling. Corronato and Zary have higher ceilings but with a lower chance of sticking and becoming an everyday impact player at this stage imo.
I think that Mackey could likely play as many games as anyone on this list when it's all said and done.

I remember when we first started doing the prospect rankings and I've looked forward to it every summer since.
It's a great way to gauge public perception on the kids and get more knowledge on them before they come up. It seems like for every prospect there is at least one member of CP that is local to their junior or overseas teams.
Sure, there is the Prospects form during the season, but this is a nice one size fits all thread.

That's one way of looking at it.
If you count the players that played 8 NHL games ... made more than a year's AHL salary in the NHL
2018 - 28
2019 - 12
2020 - 3 43 in all
or guys that will be always be able to say they played 1 NHL game
2018 - 41
2019 - 22
2020 - 4 I am sure that must be near an all time low and there will likely be a relatively huge number of draftees getting their first NHL game this season.

I like it when the first pick is a tough one! I went with Zary though. Has an extra year, more important position, and he has had more opportunities to show what he has compared to Coronota. Pelletier is in the running, but he has a lower ceiling in my opinion.

Went with Zary. Didn't the Heat go on a 7 game winning streak with him in the line up and then fell off a cliff when he went back to the W?

I feel like either Zary or Coronato are fine as the top pick. I went with Coronato as he seems to have the higher ceiling.

Went with Zary because his AHL stint last season was very impressive. Pelletier and Coronato are right there though.

Coronato might not turn out to be the best player overall, but he is definitely a sniper, and that's the hardest skill for any team to acquire.

25 is the point where he's officially had his rookie season, seems like a good place to start to me.
1 game is sort of irrelevant, 8 is 8 times less irrelevant but 1/3 as relevant as 25.
Maybe I should use 100 and really knock those numbers down!

I debated between Vladar and Wolf, but went with Vlad. He looks like a hell of a goalie and I'm stoked he's in our system. You don't win AHL goalie of the year and not have some game.
Zary and Pelletier have all the skill to be good 3rd liners and I don't believe Coronato will ever play a game professionally for the flames.
