The things you are saying are much more of an escalation than is actually happening from other posters
I really don’t get the point

If you want to fool people twice, it certainly helps to have a different grift the second time.

Sounds like the league didn't want to have their production tonighy and analysis on air around the pics muddied by the mentioning and factoring of the acquisition cost.
Also, maybe Gio looks a little shaken because he's flown to Seattle for no reason as he's off somewhere else?

Pretty sure half the posters here could have executed the draft better. What a schmuck!

Just stop already. You’re repeating the same dam thing multiple times a day in multiple threads.
Your opinion is clearly known, you’re polluting any hockey discussion and doing nothing to stop the negativity. Surely you realize you’re just escalating things at this point?

Again, the issue is the relative values of the players. If we call Giordano's value a 5 and Kylington a 1, then a 1st and a 3rd is too much to pay for the difference between them. Most other teams went in knowing that they might lose a 3 at worst, and even a 3rd-round pick was too much to pay for the difference between a 3 and a 2. If it's the difference between one 3 and another 3, there's little point in paying any price at all.

Yes, there were some surprising picks, but there are a lot of factors here, not the least of which being the cap. They avoided taking most of the big name, big ticket, low value guys, and instead kept the budget under control and opted with some of the picks for future upside.
What they did get was a really solid blueline, along with grit and tenacity, and some good middle 6 / bottom 6 forwards. They will be hard to play against.
And most importantly, they still have some $30M to play with. That can get them 4 to 6 really good players. And if they can add that to the base they built today, I think they might be in pretty solid shape.
They obviously were too greedy on the side deal issue, but calling them idiots is very premature.

No kidding, some head scratching moves today for sure. Wasn't too impressed with the Hakstol hiring either. Francis gets an F and Seattle is no good.

Trades are happening. I mean they pass on Carey Price, even though I know he is injured and expensive.

Not just premature but completely shortsighted. All these people calling for the Kraken to select the best 30 NHL players and then flipping a whole bunch for picks are out to lunch.
They’d have zero leverage if they tried that. Teams could just wait until closer to the start of the season, Francis would have no choice but to unload them or put them on waivers. What kind of idiot GM would trade for a player now that they can have for free in a month or two?

If there's actually no pre-arranged "we give you this so you pick this guy instead of that guy" though, then Francis has lost the opportunity to capitalize on wanting a player, even if to sell to another team, that is not the one that the team he's picking from perceives as the one most valuable.
