"We've had the dates. Now, we have the times.
Mark it down, Flames fans, because the start times for the 2021-22 regular season have been officially announced by the National Hockey League.
The Flames open the campaign on the road on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. MT against the Edmonton Oilers. Two nights later, the locals will open the home portion of their schedule with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop against the Anaheim Ducks.
That is the only 7:30 start time the Flames will have all year at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The remaining 40 nights will be either a 7 or 8 o'clock puck drop, with a rare, 5 p.m. gun slated for Saturday, March 12 against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Flames will have only a single afternoon tilt all year - an 11 a.m. MT (or 1 p.m. local) start on the road against the Washington Capitals on Saturday, Oct. 23. Otherwise, a 3 p.m. MT (5 p.m. local) clash in Ottawa on Nov. 23 is the closest to a midday match."
