McDavid and Draisaitl will likely be long gone before Coronato has a chance to play in the NHL. I think we see one of them dealt after another failure next year, prompting the other one to demand a trade as well. So unless Coronato makes the jump immediately, the odds of him playing with those two are small. I see the Oilers a year from a major retool or rebuild.
Even though Coronato is an older player in this draft I suspect he's going to take some time. I'm always hesitant to get excited about players out of the USHL as it is not exactly the best development league around, probably on par with tier 2 junior. Players coming out of the USHL need development time. Plus, as gaudy as Coronato's numbers were, they weren't even close to leading his team. He was 16 points behind Sean Farrell, a Montreal 4th round pick. The kid has finishing ability, but can that ability translate to the next level? That's where the development comes in. Good piece to have, but he's a few years away.
