Boston is only 4 points up for the last playoff spot, albeit with 2 games in hand. However, their defense is destroyed right now, so there’s definitely room for regression.
I like their chances - 6 games left against Buffalo, 2 against the Devils, 2 against the Rangers.
This is genius from the Bruins GM, cheap addition to ensure his team has a super speedy retool. Bruins are guaranteed the 1st OA and don’t even need to suffer through a full season of tanking.
It’s a Taylor Hall joke. Guy has helped his teams to several 1OA, RNH, Yakupov, McDavid, Hischier and Hughes. Considering he has been in the league for 11 years now, I suppose I should have stated the Bruins have a 50% chance at 1OA.

I’m pretty surprised to see the return Buffalo got just based on his name. I do believe Hall is a great player but this season has been a write off for any of those players on the team and it’s hard to imagine any player can turn it on just by being on a better team. I think an off-season will do him well but any player from Buffalo won’t be able to deliver this season. 50% retained though, should’ve garnered more than a second still just based on his name. Buffalo being Buffalo.
As bad as Hall has been he does have more points in less games than Foligno. I expected more, surprised they didn't wait until closer to the deadline I have to think a 2nd would still be on the table.
Taylor Hall (50% retained) and Lazar traded to BOS for Anders Bjork and a 2nd

Also worth noting, NHLRumorsDaily on Twitter is a legit source. Maybe the best out there at reporting “insider” information without it being bloated by personal opinions etc.
This is not true at all. He has linked over 5 teams to Hall over the past couple weeks (something anybody with a decent understanding of the standings/cap could do) and then claims it’s an #NRDbomb when someone else announces the trade lol. Not to mention actual insiders have been mentioning these same teams for weeks. Everything he does is throwing mud at the wall and hoping it sticks.
He didn’t have a clue on the return.
There is a reason he hides behind a fake Twitter account and doesn’t use his real name. His Twitter handle literally has rumors in the title.
His account is also bloated with personal opinions. All he does is complain about never getting credit even though all he does is speak in vague terms and make loose connections that are already out there and tag barstool sports trying to get hired by them.
The guy is awful. A couple weeks ago he said the Flames we're in in on Palmieri haha. Sorry, rant over.

Like you can’t tell me no one had a first round pick on the table for Taylor Hall when Nick Foligno and David frikkin Savard netted first rounders
Foligno and Savard are very good at stopping the other team from scoring goals. Which the longtime follower of the NHL will recall turns out to be useful in the playoffs.

Boston does desperately need some scoring support behind that top trio. So Hall should be able to help there and Lazar provides some 4th line or bench depth.
They also picked up Mike Reilly from Ottawa tonight too for a 3rd in 2022. Not sure if Ottawa had to retain any money in that one. But Reilly had 19 assists in 40 games which is a decent total for a team that doesn't score a lot of goals when they're not playing the Flames.
