This is so similar to Gully hockey. The players either can’t execute whatever goofy ass crap Ward is asking them to do, they just don’t understand it, or they just don’t believe in it.

They don’t want to play safe, passive BS hockey and I don’t blame them.
Collapse in front of your own net, try the same BS breakout out the strong side each time, “get it deep” , etc.
Players want to attack and play aggressive, not play this safe and passive hockey that is just mind numbing to play (and watch at times).
