We are pretty much the softest team in the league with Looch and Bennett

(and yeah, good point by those mentioning Lucic's family as to why he wouldn't waive)

I know some of you don't agree, but Lucic could be replaced by Rinaldo especially if all you are looking for is some toughness

Big drop off in terms of toughness between Lucic and Rinaldo

And overall play to be honest. As poor as Lucic has been this year he’s essentially been Rinaldo’s ceiling

Yeah, no way this happens without a plan to bury or eliminate the contract already in place.

The Calgary Flames Hockey Club isn't going to make a stand on Bill Peters just to incorporate another Bill Peters.

I honestly haven't seen Lucic do anything other than throw a hit occasionally anyway when it comes to being the tough guy on the team.

Rinaldo may be dirtier than Lucic, but he's not nearly as intimidating.

And what good is Lucic if he's too slow to hit anyone?

Isn’t the original Calgary looking at Deangelo source from Mckenzie?

He’s not a clickbait kind of guy

Lucic doesn't use his intimidation factor or ever drop the gloves. He's too soft of a player compared to the way he should play.

I don’t know, I hear Deangelo can take a punch or two.

Does he really seem that bad?

I kinda had to remind myself this guy is like 3-4 years into his NHL playing career... he sounds a lot like a head coach

Lucic was credited with 4 hits tonight, best on both teams.

The only way this happens is if we send a bad contract back (cough Lucic), bury DeAngelo on the taxi squad, and buy him out at the end of the year. No reason for the Rangers to do that though (other than to say good riddance) as they can just as easily buy him out at the end of the year.

So yeah there’s no way this works out...

I don't want him.. BUT when's the last time the Flames have had a slimy defensemen with arrogance. Too many nice guys in recent years.

Honestly if it weren't for DeAngelo's reputation.... if we heard that Treliving was trading Bennett for a 25 or 26 year old Right shot defenseman that scored 53 points in 68 games last seaon I think we are praising him.

Lucic is second on the team in hits, behind Tkachuk who plays way more minutes.

How many times has he dropped the gloves since coming to the flames. That's basically what he is at this point, an enforcer and he doesn't even do that for the 5 million he makes a year.

I’m not serious given DeAngelo’s character, but:

DeAngelo (50% salary retained) + 1st round pick for Bennett?
