The players need to be better too but this coaching staff isn’t good enough.

Terrible bench management, the system is slow with too much dump and chase for a team that doesn’t have that skill set, and you can tell there is just no answer.

You could just tell that by the third game tonight the Jets had the Flames figured out. They knew exactly what the Flames were going to try offensively, and the Flames just didn’t have an answer.

And I’ve thought that going back to the offseason and didn’t want Ward extended then. He proved to me in the series against Dallas that he wasn’t the answer when he was dramatically out coached in that series and made some glaring mistakes.

He really confirmed it tonight though in the third. Doesn’t shorten the bench. Saddles Gaudreau with Nordstrom. And kept mixing up the lines in just the stupidest ways.

Same #### different year. Myself and others were criticized after the creation of the “blow it up thread” for being negative. I ask the question again, what has this team done in the past 30 years to convince anyone that this year will be different. This team is not very good. We are already a fifth of the way through the season and the only team they have managed to beat more than once is Vancouver. I predicted they would be lucky to finish fourth in the division. Don’t be surprised if McDavid runs roughshod on them this weekend.

As bad as the coaches and forwards are, I feel our blueline is lacking too. Without Brodie and Kylington there is no one who can act as a Bobby Orr style rusher and mitigate our lack of play driving centres.

At this point the only way I can see this team finding its way is if Dillon Dube is miraculously moved to centre in lieu of one of Lindholm or Monahan. But based on how they handled Bennett over his career, it isn't happening.

I was hoping he would learn from his mistakes but it's the same thing. It's like he can't understand that what worked in game one won't work in game 3. Its very frustrating to watch.
