Just a quick glance at hockeydb and I would add John Carlson to this list.

Carlsson got over 40 points (55) during his 24 year old season. Although I guess Trouba and McDonaugh are the same. So there isn't a single defensemen in the NHL who was a first round pick and had their first 40+ point season after the age of 24.

Again, Hanafin isn't bad offensively.

When is the last time a defenseman put up two 30+ points seasons with the Oilers? I'm pretty sure only Klefbom has done so in the past decade. And even he has barely done it.

Dmen usually don't ever get it, period. It's not a right of passage that you become a Norris Winner at 26.

More accurately put, a Small Minority of defencemen sometimes get it in their mid twenties.

Hanifin is not looking, at this point, to be one of them. time will tell.
