Things are not going well in this mans life.
Clearly needs some serious help.
Quote:
35-year-old storied NHL Hockey star Bobby Ryan, who has the assumed (and somewhat legal[link]) name of Robert Shane Ryan, was arrested in Nashville Monday at the Nashville International Airport. An airport store reported that Ryan had taken items and left without paying and alerted Airport Police, who observed him on security cameras. Ryan left the stolen items on a counter along his way and entered Little Harpeth Brewing, where officers found him seated at the bar ordering a drink. Police say he was not compliant with them, was extremely intoxicated, and did not know where he was, the date, or the time, and could not stand on his own. The store declined prosecution on the recovered items, and Ryan was jailed for public intoxication.

Sad when I read stories like this. Hopefully he can eventually work out his issues, whatever they may be.

Looks like his issues with alcohol have resurrected themselves. Hopefully he has someone to support him.

Nashville is probably the worst possible place to go if you're a sober person.

Ryan had such a bad upbringing, I can't help but cheer for him in life. Hope he gets all the help he needs and is able to conquer his demons.

I didn't realize it was public, so I googled it.

Professional athlete who had multiple serious concussions in his career and then has serious mental health and substance abuse problems after his career...
I'm sure it's just a coincidence! Again!

There’s a lot more to Bobby Ryan’s story than that.

That is sad to hear, but it sounds like he is still dedicated to getting his life turned around.
Last season I was all for the Flames signing him as a depth player. His last season, he was still providing a lot of energy and seemed like a well liked player by his team.

The guy just needs help, hope he can keep fighting and working towards a healthy future, sounds like he has two kids and a wife that I am sure he loves, wishing the best for Bobby.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Melnyk is no longer with the team.
