Surprised Elliot is in the net, he looks to be doing good but it's only a matter of time before the meltdown with that guy.

Flyers getting out shot badly.

They look like they need a major shake up

Nelson with a top cheese snipe. 1-0 Isles on the second.

There is it, Elliott making himself as small as possible on that one.

I'm so glad I don't have to watch Elliot all the time anymore. Very frustrating.

Big surprise. Vigneault must have giant brass balls to start Elliot in a close to must win playoff game.

Wow nice goal, 3-1.

The last 2 goals shortly after Greiss makes a big save, been very impressed with him tonight.

Provorov with possibly the worst 2 on 1 defence I have ever seen on that 3rd Isles goal. Might as well have been a 2 on 0.

I was picking the Flyers to go to the finals, stick a fork in them now.

I still have some faith that they can come back... but the bubble Flyers just haven't had it since the round robin, and even then, they sort of looked like they were the only ones in the East taking that part of the tournament seriously.

If Philly fizzles out here I wonder if Konecny is a viable return for Gaudreau after all.

I came into the playoffs thinking it was a fair swap, then was pessimistic after the Flames (and specifically Gaudreau's) playoffs, but I'm back thinking it's a good potential swap for both teams.

Of course Konecny hasn't been productive in the playoffs either, but I really like his overall game. Only 23, right shot RW, 5 more years at $5.5M.

Not sure that's accurate.

Konecny:
Age 20: 47 pts in 81 games (0.58 ppg)
Age 21: 49 pts in 82 games (0.60 ppg)
Age 22: 61 pts in 66 games (0.92 ppg)

Miller:
Age 20: 6 pts in 30 games (0.20 ppg)
Age 21: 23 pts in 58 games (0.40 ppg)
Age 22: 43 pts in 82 games (0.52 ppg)

It took Miller 4 more years to get to a PPG season (this year at 26/27). I don't think the average expectation for either going forward is 80 points consistently, but Konecny has been much faster to progress to this point. Konecny's motor, GAF level, and tenacity are what I covet most.

^^Konecny’s playoff performance has not been impressive. If your the Flames, you ask for more. Konecny maybe pans out on year 3 or 4 of the trade, for the next two years JG will be better, especially with bigger and stronger line mates in Philadelphia.

Everyone dumps on Gaudreau for his playoff performance while salivating over a guy that's got 5 assists in 19 playoff games. I'm not saying I would be unhappy for him as being part of a return but I don't think he's enough for a player that's been a point a game over 400 games.

With age, contract and upside I don’t think they have to add much.

Playoff sample sizes are so small. It's unfortunate how people put so much stock into them. Players get hot or cold; teams get matched up with strong opponents.

At least these trade proposals are getting more realistic. In some other threads, people are saying Gaudreau for Couturier + prospect

Proven talent in prime > upside. No way I would make that trade straight across. Gaudreau will flourish on another team out east, we don't know if Konecny will flourish on a different team.

You have an interesting perspective, what are your thoughts on a potential Gaudreau for Konecny swap?

Unbalanced 1 way or the other? Close with tweaks?
