Whelp, you had to know this was coming. 1st round curse still in effect. Start the series strong then slowly choke their way down the ladder. Disheartening, but not surprising.
See y'all next game for what might be the last.

Who cares. If gaudreau, monahan, Giordano are moved out of here, which they absolutely need to, there's no reason to hold onto any vets.
It's rebuild time, hopefully this time with a gm with a plan.

Blow the team up entirely?
Won’t happen but if they lose Thursday big changes are coming.
Only positive is the team finally had a push back in the third after being massively outplayed for the last 4 games

I don't think he's the starting goalie anymore....

Flames > Edmonton but it is still very sad. One more game to watch before the weekend.

What exactly would you say our top line does?

not enough offense... Dallas defense blocking everything...
it felt like a better effort compared to last game, but in the end, its still a loss...
really need Tkachuk to come back (if he's ready of course)

Better effort in the second and third after what was a pretty poor first period.
Caught sleeping to start the third though and that’s all that was needed for the Stars to take the series lead.
Hopefully they actually show some urgency in game 6 with their backs against the wall. I thought this series was going 7 games from the start and still feel that way.
Coach needs to make some adjustments though.
Mangiapane - Backlund - Lindholm
Gaudreau - Bennett - Lucic
Dube - Monahan - Reider
Janko - Quine - Ryan
Those should be the forward lines for game 6.

Goaltending has been the least of the problems for this team. Talbot has stood on his head and kept them in games they’ve had no business being in. Unless this team learns they have to play hard and ugly from the drop of the puck they’ll be done in game 6.

I simply cannot believe Giordano's decline. It has been painful to witness it.
If there was ever a real debate on whether we need to protect him for the expansion draft or not, the answer is pretty clear by now.

It's a pretty damning message being sent. Rittich isn't "the guy".
So, with the expiring contracts and performance of players on the roster, this team has no:
#1 defenceman
#2 defenceman
#1 centre
#1 left wing
#1 goalie
...I mean we can call it whatever we want, but we're effectively rebuilding through incompetence yet again.

Our 3rd line has been our best line by far, and Gaudreau has been a blackhole in almost every single game. Plus he blew his defensive coverage in the last minute of Game 2 for the winner. Just the complete opposite of a playoff performer.
He's a $6.75M PP specialist who is looking for a raise. But don't worry, he's "just unlucky".

I'm pretty sure this is how we ran Savard out of town. Good luck trying to find any offence for the next 10 years.
Dube deserved some of the blame on that game winning goal. How about Lindholm? Talk about turning into a swedish turtle during the playoffs. Disgusting.

Lol who is saying this?
I'm pretty sure everyone that has been a fan of Johnny Gaudreau up to this point knows he is playing scared and horrible and this isn't luck.
