Probably because they have been in the league for 3 years total and have been legit Cuo contenders every year? As a fan base they don’t know the pain of a failed rebuild or 5+ years without playoffs.

Not even sure the point of an offside review if what constitutes an offside isn't consistently interpreted.

Are you sure? I know it has been discussed, but I didn't think the rule had actually been changed yet.
(if it has, what were they even reviewing?)

From what I can find, the GMs voted to recommend changing the enforcement standard to simply "breaking the plane" on March 3. Before it could be made official, it would need to also be approved by the competition committee and the BoG. That didn't happen before the lockdown, and there doesn't seem to be any indication that it happened during the stoppage.
Presumably, that means the rule is still the same as it was.

That's what the Vegas play by play guys were saying. If false they blew the call but I doubt it, it was a clear case where the skate was off the ice but was ruled onside.

But again, if the rule has changed, there would have been nothing to review.
You say it was clearly off the ice, but I changed my mind 5 times watching the replays, and finally decided there wasn't clear enough evidence to overturn.

If Chicago could upset the golden showers as well as the Oilers they would be in my top five favourites. Was a little bitter at the franchise for a couple years when they were young and arrogant and beat the flames (young Byfuglien, Burrish, Versteeg, Kane- 2009 maybe) but have always loved the jersey and they have some great guys (Toews, Keith). Not a good look in game 1 so far. It drives me nuts how this new franchise has the $$ to sign free agents like Lehner. Lehner and Fleury as your goalies. Yikes.

It is going as well as I expected it would for the Hawks.

Usually I just hope other series are close, both teams beat up and tire each other out.
But I would love the Knights to utterly spank the Blackhawks. Sweep them, shut them out from here on out, just crush them.
And only to embarrass the Oilers some more knowing they couldn't even beat a team that had no place in the playoffs.

Ah, bad guys are going to win this one. The knights have only been in the league since 2017 and I'm more sick of them than any team.

I'd rather have the Hawks win and bask in the whining at how it was unfair that the mighty oil had to face a strong team when they had locked up a playoff spot and how they would have crushed a pretender like the Jets. No major changes needed, they are "that close" to being contenders.

Vegas is that skilled that they can still ice a no-talent, 3 min-a game-playing goon like Reaves and not pay the price for it.

Somebody just hammered d*******g Marchessault with a clean hit. Excellent.
Why are we watching a McDingle highlight? News flash- it's Chicago and Vegas playing. The Losers lost and aren't in the playoffs. McDingle isn't the only player to score on a backhand. Jesus Christ.

It was a challenge of course they are going to review it.

If the rule change is true then it doesn't matter if the skate contacts the ice or not, they would review only if the skate was onside or not.

Yup, agreed. One of the knights I don't dislike.
Yup there's Reaves throwing hits with 19 seconds left in a 4-1 game. **** you Reaves.

Yes, and that is my point that there would have been nothing to review, because the skate was a full foot onside.
The only contentious issue was whether it was on the ice or not.
