Flames are accused of being soft and then when they start hitting they get accused of being dirty. I blame the 80s Oiler fanboy media

The media goes crazy over incidents where the Flames player doesn't even get suspended or even a penalty in many cases

Goofiest press conference ever with Backlund and Monahan on SN right now.

Heck of an effort by the team today. Excellent second period and solid 3rd to close things out.

Just as I anticipated, the stars came out to play after a lackluster game yesterday. Monahan played his best game since the restart and it’s not even close. Backlund line was outstanding. Lucic was extremely engaged. 4th line was surprisingly good. Defensemen made smart decisions on the breakout. Powerplay was something else.

A lot of good things to name. Hopefully these guys remember this type of effort for when the chips are down next time.

Spoiler!

I take credit for Monahan's solid game, as I called him out with my stupid opinion earlier. Clearly he got word and decided to prove me wrong.

Talbot was solid in net and Lucic's best game as a Flame! Great effort overall, and the lack of depth from the Jets really showed tonight. I know most of the injuries were flukes, but I'd be pissed if I was a Jets' fan. Rotten luck on their part but glad to see the Flames took advantage.

I dunno. Think of Gibson in 2017. The Ducks had a ton of injuries, but Gibson absolutely stole that entire series from us. It was a sweep on paper, but we were the better team.

The Jets are going to need Hellebuyck to be much, much better if they want to take this to five.

We see what this team is capable of. The question is can they play like this with more consistency.

great game; Calgary really played well it seemed like... the Jets do have injuries, but that can't be helped.

Important to see Calgary's top players all figure on the box score. Can't have many passengers and expect to win, even with those injuries

Seriously. The Jets, in particular, are really paying the price. I tip my hat to them.

I thought Ehlers had a great game tonight.

However, I also thought Mangiapane, Gaudreau, Tkachuck, Monahan, and Backlund all had great games too. So little wonder that the Flames won. Also loved Lucic' game (and story arch) tonight.

I often moan about the suffering borne by Flames fans. Tonight felt good. This game felt like a big test for this core. They made a statement.

And a “couple fluky goals” according to him, “otherwise we were right there”.

Double! Double the power plays.

Jeez man, did they see the missed calls yesterday?

Should probably just change the home reds to back or.something, because they don't play in those home jerseys. Is it a coincidence that the Flames best game of the series was in their road whites? I think not!

Did Looch really get a penalty for just simply being too strong? And a goal called back because a jets player interfered with his own goalie?
