Slow your roll big boy.
I can agree with Sauerkraut, but you get rid of Lettuce and Tomato and you get rid of a lot of excellent sandwiches.

Sauerkraut is awesome on the right sandwich, also tomatoes. Lettuce is the light weight of vegetables and deserves no love.

Man... Rueben vs BLT should be the final.
Though in my sandwich experience I've found I mix the best of all of these together.
Mmm grilled cheese Rueben

Threat campaign.
Ham sandwich took down Mama Cass. You want to get on its wrong side?

The boy and I do a bastard Cuban
ham, cheese, mustard, pickle.
It is important to build it in this order outside in:
olive oil>bread>mustard>cheese>ham>pickle>cheese>mustard >bread>olive oil
Easy and tasty

pfft, they left off the greatest thing in the world, a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe

BLTs are awesome. The only thing that makes it better is adding in egg and cheese, and making it a BELTCh sandwich. Bumpy's Cafe on the Beltline used to make a pretty decent one.

The only reason grilled cheese beat Monte Cristo is because most people have not had their life changed by enjoying a Monte Cristo.

I'll admit, I've never had a Monte Cristo. My parents used to own a office lunch cafe back in the 90's and early 2000's, and that was one of the items they had on their menu but took out because the previous owners never taught my parents how they're made.
Man, I miss that cafe. 90% of my fond sandwich memories are from there.

Clubhouse vs BLT? Gross on both counts. Was hoping for a grilled cheese vs Montreal smoked meat final - that would be a tough choice.

It just occurred to me - but the best sandwich of course is the turkey sandwich after Thanksgiving and Xmas. French loaf, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, lettuce. [+salt and pepper and miracle whip]

Clubhouse and BLT are variations of the same thing, with the club adding some chicken.
I used to love the Clubhouse at St Huberts BBQ (like Swiss Chalet) with their dipping sauce.

Grilled Cheese is quality, but smoked meat.....blech
Clubhouse is the king of sandwiches hands down, especially if it is made with real roast chicken, it is key to ask that question when ordering.

Chicken with a salad on bread vs pig with a salad on bread in the final. Yawn.

Yah, I went with the clubhouse, since you get all the goodness of the BLT, just with turkey / chicken and ham, and another slice of toast in between.
Man, I can totally go for a clubhouse right now...

Cafe Divine in Okotoks (when it existed) had the single best sandwich of all time with leftover Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey
Open faced Turkey sandwich on sourdough, havarti cheese, under the broiler.
