Imagine that having a gun pulled on you as a humble store clerk isn't a completely unusual thing....
They say they're the home of the free but freedom usually goes hand in hand with a sense of security, which is clearly not prevalent in that country right now.
Can't imagine raising kids in places where these sketchy characters are marching around streets and parks with real or fake guns. Skinned knees should be the most realistic/probable concern for a parent when their kid is out playing.

Even here, you might get assaulted with hockey sticks for driving too slow. People with unhealthy suppressed anger exist in many places.

Hockey season is over....
I didn't defend anyone. If you have to resort to lies and slander, you must not have a very solid argument.
You are sounding more and more unhinged and full of hate. Quit reflecting.

That is the first time I have been accused of reflecting. I'm still not sure how to handle it.

Agreed. What kind of world do we live in where a race of noble peoples like the denizens of trailer parks can be so scurrilously slandered with the reckless abandon of a white nationalist. I am sickened this is allowed to exist.

Here's an interesting question.
Let's say you come home and you look across the street and it appears your neighbours house is being robbed.
You own a handgun, what is your course of action?
Because honestly, I'd just phone the police and wait for them to come deal with it.
I get the impression that people who carry guns (not just own) would grab their pistol and run in to "save the day".
I can't understand this line of thinking.

Easy to replace nationality and minor other details and suddenly it becomes very hateful. Insulting Americans seems to acceptable, it shouldn't.

Yeah it's weird how replacing details works.
You say you hate spiders and it's fine.
But you change "spiders" to "immigrants" and all of a sudden you're the bad guy? Like, how does that even work??

Exactly. Why risk the hundred things that could go wrong when you have people whose job it is to resolve dangerous situations.
Owning and carrying a gun for the off chance that you can act out a hero fantasy that can easily go south in real life and get you in legal #### even if you don't get hurt feels like the thinking of someone living in a delusional bubble. If you're the average citizen you're not trained to to deal with such situations anyways.
As for self defense, fair enough, store it away somewhere secure for that off chance. But it definitely doesn't need to be an assault rifle, and ffs don't be going to the grocery store barrel down your asscrack. You can't shoot coronavirus.
Also if you must have protection why use bullets? Get a flamethrower if you must scare away a potential trespasser. No need to incinerate anybody alive, just let loose a nice jet of flame like the badass you are and they'll pick another house.

Sure, depending on the context and example. Stereotyping Americans as trailer trash? Not gonna OK that one. Not as close to your very cute "textbook racism" as you made it seem, but not "fine." Too bad there wasn't some middle ground between the two far-apart options. Oh well.
But stereotyping is also necessary quite often for fairly innocent means. That is how marketing to target demographics, insurance premiums, and age-based requirements work, for example.
Anyways, back to reflecting, or talking about reflecting, or whatever you doin.

I think that there are a few posters on the site that have never really met or worked with real Americans. It seems like their entire experience is based on twitter, social media and maybe a one time trip to a trailer park.

You're delusional if you think anything other than guns is effective for protection against a zombie apocalypse.
Honestly speaking, I've really been interested in getting a high FPS air soft (just below certain FPS to be in the lower tiers) to replace having a bat or home invasion purposes. But that's really just an excuse so that I can get one to play with and shoot. I am not paranoid thinking that home invasions are common and I must protect myself. More than likely if somehow someone broke into my home while I was sleeping, simply yelling, "I AM A GUN OWNER." would cause the thief to leave. No normal thief is going to hang around trying to call your bluff as to whether you own a gun or not.
I have a $15 Colt 25 air soft gun that I bought at Cabela's that is a ton of fun. It is rated at around 150 FPS. I'd just like something with a smidge more oomph maybe around 250-350 FPS which is still quite below the 500 FPS level that requires regulation. Possibly even something with a semi automatic mode. Even if the air soft gun falls into the wrong hands, someone might lose an eye at worst, but no one dies.
I have no interest in owning a real gun, but I am interested in air soft in the same way I was interested in Nerf guns as a kid. It's a toy.
A gun isn't a toy though, it's a tool. The moment someone forgets this and treats a gun like a toy is the moment you have an issue.

Absolutely none of those things happened in that video. There was no evidence of trespassing, prowling or burglary in that video. Did you know the owner of the house has several more videos of people wandering in and out of the house? One cute white girl came in to retrieve her dog then had a good 2 or 3 minute look around. She never got shot three times with a shot gun. The owner had no signs up or fencing or even a door. The prevailing thought is that Arbrey went through the house because there was an electrician's van in front and he wanted to talk to someone about becoming an electrician. He had just applied to a trade school to become an electrician. Either that or he just wanted to fill his socks up with stolen 2x4's.

None of this is true or false. You will believe any talking point that you agree with while not applying any scrutiny. Kind of like sheep. It isnt a good news story, wait for the facts to come out.
If the guy was up to no good, does that change the conclusion of this story? I am not so sure it does, the video does not add enough here.

The video is the evidence we have. That's what people are talking about here and now. When someone says he's guilty of x y and z because of this video, I can say unequivocally that person doesn't have a single clue what x y and z are. Because the video entered as evidence so far indicates none of that. Unless black=guilty.
