It figures Toronto would have a 5'6 sieve for an emergency road team backup. I'd bet if Toronto needed one he would be at least a former junior A goalie.

I agree with Hughson. I’d be firing from my own zone on this guy.

Toronto only took a 4 or 5 attempted shots on an emergency goalie.

They've gotta feel like they're in a tough spot in terms of sportsmanship I suppose.

This guy better already have an email from players tribune in his inbox, because I want to hear his story while the memory is as fresh as possible.

Its actually pretty crazy that they don't just postpone the game when something like this happens.

Can you imagine the fallout if Toronto wins this game and then beats Carolina for the last playoff spot by one point?

Well it probably won't be much because Carolina, but if it happened the other way there would probably be riots.

I really hope the Canes win. It will be interesting if they are down 6-5 with 4 minutes remaining. Do you pull the goalie really early because even with a goalie in the net it is like playing with an empty net.

As cool as this story is I find it hard to believe the Leafs couldn’t have found a higher quality emergency backup. I don’t think there’s an emergency backup in the world that would be any good but you have to think they can do better than a 42 year old?

Scott Foster was a pretty excellent EBUG, 7 saves on 7 shots and some of them were damn good

How does a Canes player not strap on the pads. I'm sure a few of them have played goal more than enough in their lifetime.
