I call bs. I literally saw him have Oilers lined up for big hits on the boards and pull up instead. There were multiple scrums where he did F all. Sorry Looch but your a wimp when it comes to old teammates.

I don't think Lucic is saying he's afraid or unwilling to fight. He's saying no one wants to when he's out there. That may or may not be true, but it's more "code" than being the a-hole Kassian was.

Spector was on 960 this morning. You could hear the giddiness in his voice discussing how useless Lucic was in the games.

Yeah I get that. That’s why he needs to be intimidating in other ways. He’s a big dude, go to the net and make life miserable for the goalie. On Saturday he was in front one time, the shot came in, and he got out of the way. That’s the stuff I’m talking about. It was ridiculous. He could have done so much more in the games against the Oilers but he held back. Might as well scratch him next time they play.

I hope Jankowski picked up a few tips after watching Buddy from the press box.

He was also on SN TV on the weekend calling out Gaudreau and Monahan for being invisible on Saturday night.

I want to see that smirk wiped off his ugly face.

My Oiler fan pal recently suggested that Flames fans would be best to avoid all Oiler media. Even he knows the lot of them including Terry Jones are idiots.

I'm just still baffled how a guy that scored pretty nice goals in back to back games managed to find himself benched.

The outrage at Lucic is pretty funny, if we wanted a disturber play Rinaldo...thats not Lucic never has been hes the policeman on the ice, and nothing happened that required him to get involved.

The sad thing is all this Lucic talk has many focused on him and not how they ran our defense ragged all game and how poor our coverage has been. Lucic could have been in his prime looch as that isn't changing how poor we are in our own end and all the turnovers. And for all those thinking he needs to be benched watch him in our own end and realize he is one of the few that can make pass out of the zone from the half wall.. and not just flip it out losing possession.

Of all the issues we have right now i wouldn't put him top 5 but at the same time i see why he is the easy target

He's still a better passer and zone clearer than Rinaldo, and better in his own end. That's why he played I think.

I think something similar happened to Rinaldo as well in December. He played well in a couple games, then scored a goal, and then didn't play again for nearly 2 weeks.

Does anyone look at this team this year and think to themselves "this is a team with good morale?"

With Rinaldo I can see it. He's a guy you need to stay hungry. I'd play Janko though (even though "back to back" games is a little less impressive when they are over a week apart). I suspect it was just a thought that Reider would want to put on a show and has a better pace for the Oilers. Janko just seems a bit plodding.

On Rinaldo - I wonder if there was a message from the league not to play him after his "me next" business the game before.

Seems like the same issue thats plagued this team the last 4-5 years. The fact this the core appears to be fragile. Play great in meaningless games, but come crunch time our big players are invisible (Johnny, Monahan, Gio).

I'm 100% on the trade Johnny train now. Its been half a decade of the same thing, its not working.

The reason Lucic is still in the line up is because he has been an integral part to the most consistent line the Flames have IMO. A quick look at 5V5 goals for vs goals against for his line looks like this:

Lucic-Ryan-Dube: GF-11 GA-6

This is the best 5V5 differential GF vs GA on the team... and sadly one of a very few that are in the +.

Do I like that Lucic didn't have a larger physical impact in the game... no. Should we sit 1/3 of the most consistent line we have on the team based on that one performance... no.

If thats the case then why was there a line brawl/goalie fight? Its because the game can still get emotional and accountability needs to be offered and ansewered.

Lots of other guys could do it, but not him?

Wow...im starting to loathe his entire presence on this club.

What a terrible hockey player he has become...and he used to be one of my favorites.

Lucic can say that and maybe the average fan doesn’t understand how the game has changed but what about the media? Lucic is getting carved by ex-players in the media. Guys that should have an understanding of the game and of Lucic’s game. They are baffled by his no-show the last two games against Edmonton.

If only there was some way to not have him talk about Gaudreau and Monahan that way.

The notion lucic was here to be some kind of physical policeman should've left all of our collective heads the moment Reeves blew up kylington with lucic right there next to him.
