Dammit! They checked out early for Christmas. But also that's some wacky scheduling.

Also every time I post in the GDT we lose, so I will not next time.

Just trample the No Goods on the 27th.

I said the season hasn't been nearly good enough...last 14 games the record IS stellar though over that stretch, not even you can debate that

Freaking out over every loss is dumb though...saying a team losing 5-0 in the 2nd period is putting in the effort because they have thrown ad few hits if ridiculously dumb. You are going out of your way.

I'm sure if you were a Caps fan you would be raving about the effort...you just can't take a loss

All some people do is bitch, why bother?

at least be constructive...complaining about the Flames not hitting in a game they out hit the other team

Didn't see the game tonight. Did Backlund skate slowly or quickly?

Could you elaborate on what the bolded part means?

another one of the usual suspects lol

Backlund is a good skater...assuming you have eyes. He probably missed a few glorious chances though

I think it kind of goes both ways though.

It can't always be Nieuwendyk/Fleury/Vernon/Iginla/Gaudreau or whoever the team's top players' fault.

If this core isn't good enough, then why do those same fans keep clamoring for more Treliving? If it's all effort and what people want to see, why do they put up with the way the Flames are managed?

Thats a pretty ####ing stupid scheduling job. Completely idiotic.

Still, sure hope this team brings a better effort more consistently in the 2nd half.

31 team league

30 teams fans "put up with losing" but that one fan base that complains the most gets rewarded

or maybe we have nothing to do with anything

I didn't "freak out" I said exactly what I thought. Watched the game closely the Flames were kept to the outside and were very easy to play against. There is no excuse for this and I guarantee the coaching staff will say the same thing.

As for the Caps they are not rolling over and checking out never mind the score. Wilson is stirring up the the #### Ovechkin is hitting people (and scored). That's hating to lose.

Meh. A crap game in December, right before Xmas break. Nothing to see here.

As we saw last year, it’s about how you’re playing heading into April. Calgary stumbled in, Colorado was flying and it carried over.

Plenty of time for Calgary to right this ship and get on a run before April. Playing in a crap division gives them wiggle room for mistakes as well.

I don't really blame them for looking bagged after flying the length of the US after playing 20 hours before.

While the reality is that the last 14 games really haven't even been that good (9-3-2 with very poor metrics), you're also pulling out a sample that pretty much any team can use over the course of an 82 game season.

Edmonton started 8-2-1.
San Jose won 11 of 13.
Anaheim started 6-2-0.
Chicago had a 5-0-1 stretch.
Buffalo started 8-1-1.
The Rangers had a 5-1-1 stretch.

These are all teams who had great stretches before their terrible 5v5 metrics caught up to them.

Yet we're supposed to give the Flames a free pass and expect this winning despite very poor 5v5 play to continue?

Yup. I'm honestly not even as concerned about seeding. If they end up WC1 but are hot going into april then that's more ideal than a repeat of last season. Let's not get hung up on games like this. In the spring will it mean anything? No one will be reflecting on this, so whatever.

Should trade Ovechkin before his value plummets. The league has figured him out man.

Flames out hit the Wild 19-6 and you complained about them being soft and not hitting

So intelligent, congrats

If you want to bitch about something bitch about something that actually hurt them this game like poor passing and shot selection.

Can't do green text on my phone.

I'm just sick of the want to trade away Calgary's best players for a mystery box when the GM can't package up enough to get a Hall or Stone anyways.

The CBA only allows teams to play minimum 22 hours since last puck drop. So the flames were right on the allowable time. It however doesn’t allow how far travel in between I believe.
