Josi’s the better dman. It’s the right choice to extend him instead of keeping Subban if the can get it done

As a Preds fan I'm fine with this deal.

Josi is better and is in the long term plans. Now the Preds have cap space.
Also makes things a little easier for an expansion draft.

Im assuming they already have the framework in place...nothing can happen until July 1 though...officially any how.

This is the worst trade I’ve seen since the Hall deal. I’m sorry but PK at 9m for three more years is not that bad of a deal, especially when you look at some of these other deals being signed. If I was a Preds fan I’d be throwing up.

Cap dump....and its a decent return for such a deal.

Roman Josi is going to be in Subban territory on his next deal.

Let see what they do with that cap space first. If they extend Josi and get Duchene, I think the fans will be happy.

NJ may actually have a team if it all pans out.

Hall, Hischier and Hughes up front, Subban and Severson on the back.

Good peice of business for Nashville, as $9m contracts aren't easy to shuffle away, especially for a guy that's likely reaching his off ice shelf life in Nashville.

Very nice use of cap space by the Devils.

On the surface this is a pretty bad return for the Preds but if they are able to secure Duchene, or Panarin in free agency then it is a solid deal in my opinion as they are using the space they acquired in the deal on a free agent which has to be considered.

I guess we can count on Duchene ending up in Nashville now?

Moving out 9 million in cap space without taking any back is maybe the most impressive move of the draft thus far.

I get what they're trying to do, but I think this is a bad idea. Ellis should have been traded

In all honesty I would say this is a small win for Nashville, also New Jersey got a great deal for it too, but in retrospect Nashville managed to get out of Shea Weber's contract ($7.8 mil untill he's 39) with out taking that big of a loss.

PK is still a good player, but the problem is hes now on the wrong side of 30 for an active D-man in addition to injuries catching up to him.

Hes always been a player unafraid to take risks, but always having the speed to get back into position in time.

Either way, hes still an amazing player, but injuries, age and playing style in conjunction with a pretty hefty contract significantly decrease his value especially in light of Nashville's refusal to retain any money.

Hes not hot garbage or anything.

I do like this deal better for Nashville though, especially if you consider the question of: "PK or Josi?"

You take Josi right now 11 times out of 10.

Mama Poile dint raise no fools!
