I have lurked for a long time and from what I can judge from most of his input, the poor kid probably got alot of self worth from his frantic 7.7 post per day pace.

I would always laugh at his one or two word posts, as if he made his presence and opinion known, then that meant that the thread was officially validated....

He will be back, he clearly isn't finished with his 5 min. of fame here yet...
Good call...hits the nail right on the head IMO.

The good news for Jordan is that no one is taking his goodbye seriously so when he comes back no one will blink an eye.

Cowperson
I'll be linking this thread for months when he posts again.

To be honest, I was expecting to see another poster put thier first post in this thread, and to quite quickly have them revealed as Jordan.

I do find it hard to believe that a person can quit cold turkey like this, but if he can do it, more power to him. It would've been more believable if he had really slowed down on posting and even went a few days between posts. Something is up, methinks.

Anyways, see ya Jordon, although I didn't care much for you and thought that some of your posts were pointless (who doesn't have pointless posts?) your input will be missed. I enjoyed some of the discussion you brought to the board, and some of your fights with MMM.

Since I'm in a generous mood... you were right in our little tiff back in January... it is/was a pretty dumb idea to boo the players when they come back for only one game, but you didn't have to be such an *******... ok maybe not that generous.

This is definitely the strangest thing to happen in a while. Is it because he doesn't like Brett Hull? I just read that thread and there were some pretty harsh comments for Jordon. I wish I had been reading that day to post in it. I hate Hull, and I have no respect for him either. I don't think his 700+ goals demands respect. He is a one-dimensional player and an arrogant ass to boot.

Anyhow. Hope you come back some day.

Usually when someone wants to quit cold turkey they simply ask us to ban them (and yes, it has happened)

What did he say again when he welched on shaving his head if the Flames made the Playoffs? "25% of what comes out of my mouth is crap anyways" (or something like that)

Betcha this is that 25% right now.

So what happened that caused Jordan to quit?
I wonder if it's due to some of the (well-deserved) flak he took for saying he hoped Marchment "ended a few more careers" whilst playing for the Flames.

He got flak over Marchment, he got flak over his comments on Hull retiring, and I stumbled across another thread where he got flak for being a complainer. Add it all together and he may have felt like he had enough.

He got flak for alot of stuff, the kid said so many bonehead things. My favourite is when a University student was looking for a job and Jordon piped up saying "Good luck with someone hiring you for two months!" followed by a laughing face.

I guess the guy didn't know there are thousands upon thousands of College and University students who get 4 month summer jobs each spring. I mean, evne if he wasn't in College or Uni, he had to have a friend or something who did that. I mean.. ya.. it was just.. wow.

If I remember right, Jordon was voted winner of the Calgarypuck "Scott Nichol Award" for the poster most likely to start a fight he couldn't finish.

Why would anyone WANT to impose a self ban? I know Reggie did it, and now "took ball, went home", but can it be so bad here that anyone would want to "take ball, go home?"

I love this place...

Maybe he did change his email address and is serious about never coming back???

It seems Mr Mustard WILL get the last laugh. Did he send you a parting pm MMM?

I missed those awards, how did they work? Why did they get disbanded?
They were wonderfully done in the first year and - just an opinion - the technical approach the second year (if that explains anything) took the wind out of it. Then nothing last year.

The story from 2002:

Give Jordan a pat on the head as winner of the Scott Nichol Award, the guy most likely to fearlessly stick his nose into an argument he would have no hope of winning if the knuckles actually started flying. "Too many incidents where he states things as more than opinion and then gets clobbered by others into submission," agreed one voter.

http://www.calgarypuck.com/AwardResults_081402.htm

How could you not want a guy like that back!!!

Who the HELL is Fredrik? Hmmm, learn something new about this site everday.

Those awards are still pretty accurate, even 3 years after the fact.
