^ I'm having trouble putting together that Peters quote. Is he saying they can't fake intensity and thats why they aren't doing as well right now?

Danny Austin is a Postmedia reporter who is covering the Flames while Kristen Anderson is on maternity leave

He’s covering for Kristen Anderson while she’s on mat leave. He usually writes about the Stamps.

Yeah, most teams that aren't being forced to win to save their seasons right now are playing a bit inconsistent.
You can see with the Flames that they are able to carry the play and keep zone time, but that extra oomph seems to be lacking in these games at times.
Hopefully when there is something on the line, we'll see them ramp up their game.

Intensity? No. The exact word he used was desperation.
The team has a playoff spot locked up, the Sharks are on a seven game losing streak so the division looks locked up. Hard to pretend there is anything on the line right now so the team is coasting a bit. Meanwhile teams that are fighting for spots are going all out, playing with desperation. Teams that are totally out are playing for jobs last year and personal goals.
It's not good they're playing poorly, it never is but this type of situation isn't new.

Not initially liking that Prout-Brodie bottom D-pairing. I understand Prout for toughness... but Brodie not playing great lately and not sure he should be carrying the pair.
We should try to rotate Kylington and Stone in, but this might not be game to do it.
Peters knows best...I shouldn't be doubting him.

Love that Rasmus is getting spot duty with Gio, gives them a leg up on training camp next summer. Keeps Brodie on his toes for the postseason.

I think it will be a high scoring Flames win. 8-2 with Gaudreau and Lindholm hat-tricks. Neal with 2 goals.

Since Kristen Anderson @KdotAnderson on mat leave, he is subbing in, I think.

When was the last time Kylington played? Seems to have fallen down the depth chart, or is he injured?
