I guess the Wild, Yotes, and Lanche really don’t want that last wild card spot.

I’ve stopped worrying about the OOT results. Yeah it would be nice if the Sharks started losing but at this point the Flames control their destiny.

No one deserves WC2 the way all these teams are playing lol..

Top seed should just get a free pass to round 2.

This is a really upsetting night, what does the Oilers schedule look like cause it seems like the other wild card teams don't want this?

Very confident Flames will win the division and conference. Weakest remaining opponent schedule in the entire NHL.

Up to them.

Not really.

In addition to their remaining game v. the Flames, SJ plays two games v. Vegas, plus Winnipeg and Nashville. That's five games against the top three teams in the Pacific and Central Division. Calgary plays Winnipeg and SJ.

The Sharks get two games v. bottom-five teams; Calgary plays six. The Flames's schedule is considerably more forgiving.

Flames schedule has a slightly lower winning percentage...SJ is in the top five easiest too,

Flames have to win at least 9 or 10 IMO

What exactly does Vegas have to play for right now? Subban will probably get a bunch of starts

Oiler fans and media are gonna cream themselves over these results tonight, especially if their current lead over the Rangers holds up. They'll be 5 points back, which I believe is the closest they've been to a playoff spot all year.

Not that it will last for longer than a day or two, but you can guarantee they'll be raising a new banner tomorrow to celebrate.

So do the Sharks.

Apparently Morgan Reilly tossed out the ‘other’ f-bomb that rhymes with a fly larvae at a red on a hot mic earlier this evening. Imagine he’ll be feeling some repercussions from that

5 points is a ####ing sizable gap with a dozen games remaining. No room for error. Like, none. Keeping pace with those teams isn't enough. You have to be 3 wins better.

The Oilers actually held a playoff spot for a few days in mid October.

He sure did.

Andrew Shaw got 1 game during the playoffs for using the same slur.

BOTH teams need to play well and win most of their games if they want to win the Division.

Hard to believe how far the flames have come in one season.

Missed the playoffs last season comfortably and with a dozen or so games we are talking about 1st or 2nd in the conference/ division.

Impressive.

Yeah I get it, one team has a one point lead right now though...Flames will probably need to win the head to head in SJ

Just saying the schedule doesn't make it easy, Flames have one win in five games and the Sharks have won 5 in a row

I guess I'm the only one worried about the Oilers making the playoffs

No reason to be nervous at all. They only have 4 more games against fellow bottom feeders, and the rest are against playoff-caliber teams fighting for positioning:

Yotes x1
Knights x2
Blues x1
Dallas x1
Jackets x1
Avs x1
Sharks x1
Flames x1

Also, the Rangers are now on the board. 2-1 now in Edmonton.
