I am starting to doubt that they will turn it around. Monny is hurt, Gaudreau is handling the puck like a grenade, Lindholm cannot hit the net. Benny is hurt, Czar cannot score on breakaway.
Can we back to February hockey?
I find it very hard to believe Monny is hurt. Playoffs are a month away, you're first in the west and you force your top C to play injured? I just don't buy it. It's a slump. He'll figure it out.

If Monahan is hurt, they should sit him until hes better. He's pretty well useless at the moment and I'd prefer to have a number 1 center for the playoffs. If he isn't hurt, his play is extremely concerning.
It seems that right now the only center on our roster that's doing anything is Derek Ryan.
Not really. These are playoff type games now and the Flames look weak. Certainly incapable of coming back when down and dealing with other adversity. At this point they don’t look like they could win a single playoff game.
Writing them off in a 4 game slump while they are still at the top of the Western Conference isn't genius level commentary.

Its the 7th of March...home ice in the playoffs is a lock. Saying "team is done" is beyond stupid
And if you actually believe that why watch or comment on the game. Its called a slump...playoffs are a month away

there is precedent though, mony has played through injuries before and its not like these games are meaningless, they're fighting for the division title.
This is the worst thing that’s ever happened in hockey. Worst Flames team since coming to Calgary. At least we’ll have a lottery pick now as all the teams will pass us. Last game of the year versus the Oilers will be meaningful as a lottery ball battle. Panic panic, cry cry woe is me. I don’t even want to watch any more, gonna get bounced by the Wild, but also get passed by the Sharks and the Knights. First round playoff fodder but also out of the playoffs some how, this is the worst collapse I’ve ever seen.
Vs Wild - bad goaltending
Vs leafs - bad goaltending
Vs knights - couldn't score
Vs coyotes - 2nd night back to back
Is it upsetting? Maybe a little.
But glass half full is that almost every decent offensive weapon the flames have is struggling and the flames are still playing decent hockey. It's pretty unlikely that all of lindholm, backlund, Johnny, Monahan and tkachuk will continue to play poorly.

Well they got a few days to sort it out before they punch Vegas in the nuts of Sunday. They need to find that killer instinct from earlier this year and get back to their fast transition game they are really gripping it too hard out there recently and it’s all in their heads and their hearts. Injuries is no excuse and it ain’t fonnna get any better down the stretch or in the playoffs so better kick your wounds and get your asses in gear because they are better then this. Can’t blsme the goalie if you ain’t scoring any goals.
I have faith they will turn it around... why? Because they didn’t get where they by luck.
This team's top forwards aren't showing the ability to fight through tough playoff type tight checking, physical hockey.
Their frustration is showing, resulting in puck decisions we haven't seen all year, which are causing odd man rushes against.
If the sharks win tonight and Saturday, and the flames lose to the knights on sund6, i don't see the mental fortitude in this group to chase down the division from the sharks.
Ugh... Such a fun season only to see them showing a trajectory of whimpering into the playoffs.
Not to overreact, and it's a question for when the time comes, but if this team does fully collapse and limp into the playoffs, that leads to yet another earlier dismissal, it does bring the question if the core is capable of handling playoff hockey?
Same point last year that the team fell off a cliff. And the year before that, couldn't even win one playoff game.
This is when games become tighter and gritter, and space and lanes are tougher to come by. Team has shown they're not able to handle it at this point.
This team hasn't been able to score for weeks now. Team just flicked a switch since the All-Star break and look so lethargic. Not a threat whatsoever. And this is crunch time in the season.
The Flames are in trouble. Is this gonna be a repeat of the late season letdowns this franchise has perfected the art of? Sure looks like it.
That break was far too long, the all star break coupled with a bye...
I wonder where Neal is, it’s almost as if the Flames and the media are intentionally staying away from the subject. He was brought in not just for his on ice ability, but also as a guy who’s been to the last two cup finals. His presence in the room would be welcomed now just to keep things a bit even keel.
As for the Flames, trying a bit too hard, and teams are figuring out how to defend..and then panic is setting in to early and it’s getting too individual or the long stretch pass and away from the game plan.
Peters and his spotters have to adjust themselves, and make sure the forwards especially stick with the plan until things start going their way again.
Flames haven’t been outworked in these losses, so there’s that. And, not really been outchanced in these losses either.
