The "top line" won't be together tonight as Peters has elected to keep Tkachuk up with that group instead of going back to Lindholm.

I think this one will be a good test for the team tonight and Smith. I don't think Tre is going to trade Smith at this point to be honest. He has been pretty good lately and once he falters I think BSD is back in, which could be tonight, who knows. The goalie problem will be solved in the summer, not a the trade deadline for the 2nd team in the league, 2nd place team in the entire NHL and we want to trade for a goalie who likely isn't a starter currently and we will have to give away far too much to make it happen. Tre won't do that.

I think the Flames win this in in OT, 5-4. The first line shows up with 3 of the goals, one for each JG, SM and Chucky. Gio and Bennett wins it in OT!

GFG.

Here’s to a game where they open the flood gates. 3-4 points from each guy on the top line.

I have a feeling that this game is gonna be low scoring as the Isles are a stingy defensive team. But then again the flames are the 2nd highest scoring team so who knows.

The Flames and Islanders are only 3 points apart in the standings but polar opposites in how they got there. Flames have scored almost 50 more goals but the Islanders have given up 38 less goals. I would imagine it's in the Flames best interest to not get lulled into playing in a low scoring affair.

I doubt it will be a high scoring affair. Defensive teams always bring the game down to their level. The Flames will have to win the tight games, which they have this season.

Flames have been a very versatile and adaptable team. They've won tight low scoring games, high scoring games, and physical intense battles too.

Smith is going to have to be on his game because all it will take is one bad goal to lose this game.

I'll go with a 7-5 Flames prediction as the Flames find their scoring chemistry and proceed to go on a bit of an offensive roll following this game

Not really sure where to post this, but the last couple weeks when I come here on a mobile browser there's this annoying side bar advertisement that for some reason shifts over and make's the top 3 or 4 threads unclickable.

It's happened about on and off and it drives me nuts. I can't click on the game thread.

My little girl saw her first live game on Monday, and now she has a little brother as of last night.

Saying that, I have a bad feeling 7-0 Isles

go Flames go!

No. Mitch Korn is Barry Trotz's guy.

I'm glad Smith is starting, and I'd like him to get the next two games. We need to know if the real Mike Smith is back, or if he just had a couple good games and is still prone to bad goals against. If the previous version that was an all star is back, then we don't need another goalie. If he is going to be giving up bad goals again, then they need to find another one, even if it's a cheaper option.

I would bet that the team is giving Smith every opportunity to take the lead job back, including the playoff job. Those that think Rittich is just pencilled in as the playoff starter are wrong.

It is Smith’s job to lose (which he probably will).

I’ll go with 5-3 Islanders because Smith is due for a face plant

Or, a Tim Thomas-like run.
