We must have the most pessimistic fan base in the entire league.

If this was after the trade deadline I would have liked to see Lazar up. But until then I want to see how Foo will do in the NHL this year.
I feel like Quine won't be up until after the deadline as well. And I think Dube should simmer in the AHL for a little longer.

Not sure why it's difficult to understand that Peters is doing what he feels gives the Flames the best chance to win night in and night out.
As of today, he feels Smith gives him the better odds of winning against Pittsburgh. He's not thinking about stats, anybody's confidence issues, careers, etc... He's thinking about the odds of getting the W. That's it.
Not saying he's right or wrong, it's all odds.

No.

We all know it's a matter of time before Smith blows up again and for me, this is only making matters worse as far as Rittich and his confidence is concerned.

How can you know that? I find it impossible to believe that the team is not actually very concerned and attuned to their young starting goalie's confidence and psychological well being. I am going out on a very short limb here to suggest the opposite: Rittich's confidence is fine, and missing two straight starts is not going to cause him to unravel.

I’m actually glad Smith is getting this start. The team and Tre need to know for sure if they can trust Smith going forward into the playoffs. This is his chance to play against a playoff team that’s won a couple in a row and has some dangerous players.
If he can pass the test and not give up any weak goals, then maybe it goes a long way in helping him keep his job. If he fails, then the team can inch closer to pulling the trigger on a potential trade.

I'm curious if Lazar gets in before Czarnik
If there is a roster player involved in a trade, I'm expecting Czarnik to be the player

We are currently tied for best team in the west, with a game in hand. People really need to relax.
Flames looked solid against the Canucks, and were not too bad yesterday. They had a bad game against the Lightning, but almost every team has those.
The sky isn't falling. A few players need to be better (Tkachuk, Rittich, Monahan, Backlund). A few players need to get a bit luckier (Gaudreau, Hamonic, Bennett), but we are fine.

Loubardias and Wills aren’t morons. They’re just a little too close to Smith. They have a bit of a bias towards veteran players and have been pumping his tires all season. Pinder says it like it is when it comes to the goaltending this season, so I’d be more inclined to go with his opinion on the matter.

He played great last night so I don't see why he shouldn't be rewarded with the start.
Rittich has clearly struggled since getting injured and maybe a couple games for him to reset is what the doctor ordered.

He's probably the best choice. NHL experience, size, speed, near the top of the AHL squad in points, plays different positions.
Say, what's the deal with Graovac? Decent production, he's huge and played OK in Minnie last year before getting moved to the Caps and not doing anything.

I am listening to him now and I would have to disagree. As much as Wills and Loubardias go out of their way to accommodate Smith, Pinder refuses to give him any credit at all.

Lazar! I'm really excited to see what he's going to bring to the team this year. With the jam we saw from him last year, he could be the bump that gets things moving in the right direction here.
Smith is an interesting choice, I hope that pans out! Will be interesting to see how he fares against a much better team, but I think we saw Smith at another level than any good game we've seen from him this year.

Name calling is lame. Name calling because their opinion is different from yours is ridiculously lame.
