Olympic years there were no All-Star games, nor the lockout year, and he missed at least four others with injuries. He wasn't selected in 2012 (injured most of the year) or 2016.

I think he's been selected to play in 8 of the 10 he's been eligible for, but this will be his fourth appearance.

5 or 6 are deserving, 2 should definitely have been named already, but that’s not how it works, unfortunately.

Seems pretty straightforward. Every team in the division gets one space and the home team gets an extra two. Not that I think anyone should care, but it doesn't seem like any violation of justice or lack of respect.

If Sharks fans want to watch the Sharks, they can go to Sharks games. All-Star games should be played by All-Stars. The league leader in +/-, fifth-highest scoring defenseman, and captain of the best team in the division, who has many years of high performance, should be going.

Gio got screwed due to being in the Pacific. Unfortunate that the game happens to be in SJ with the year he's having.
If it was being hosted by any other division, I think he'd be there.

Seems most neat and tidy to give every other Pacific team one spot. I'm sure every team has a second player they could argue should be going.

The All-Star game is a corporate boondoggle. Let the host city have its fun, and let 35 year old Gio have a break.

No other team in the division has a second player who deserves it more than Gio.

NHL All-star doesn't have any real merit (at least for the division hosting the game) since players who should be there gets omitted for players that shouldn't be there, but are to appease the host's fans.

Apparently we can still vote Giordano in according to this as the last man for the division

Isn't that suspend-able? I thought the league cracked down on that.

He will get a game suspension. I presume he cleared it with management.

Well, it's not like they chose scrubs from SJ. Burns, Karlsson and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Pavelski are all players who are at an all-star level anyways. SJ is just a stacked team this year in terms of talent on their roster.

I would have rather seen Mony get the chance to participate in the All Star Weekend. Who's Johnny going to give the purple Jesus juice too?

Think Monahan probably desreved it as well though.
I was hoping the league would give it to him this year and not Gaudreau.

I won't be voting for Gio. It's better for the team if he doesn't go. I'd rather him rest up and enjoy time with his family.

Ah yes, the guy with one season of shallow playoff experience and Captain of perennial failures is Captain. Sounds about right.

Fixed.
