Hoping Dube burns Gudbranson for a couple of goals.

Seems to me like Frolik has been on the 4th line more than he has played with Backlund and Tkachuk.

Minute wise per game, its not even close.

Also Frolik just got back from a pretty severe injury, plays 1 game which the team won, and then gets a seat again in favor of a call up?

Something just doesn't add up and for me, Frolik is likely to be a much more important player when we get into March/April/playoffs than anyone bouncing in and out of the lineup from Stockton. Particularly on the right side.

I dunno....something else at play here, and i don't think its a good thing.

Fully expecting some more Flame Killer scoring from Petterson tonight. Difference being today is that we have things rolling now. Flames get the W and Petterson improves on his Calder chances. Win/Win for both teams.

Yeah, he only played 9 minutes in WPG, probably a pretty good chance that he isn't 100% yet.

Just listen to the game with the sound off, it'll be a lot better.

Or watch the Punjabi broadcast. The enthusiasm of the announcers alone is worth it.

I don't think it's a bad thing. Peters us probably trying to push some buttons and it's worked before with Frolik or maybe he feels he's not quite 100%. I can't imagine he will be out for more than a game or two and like I said before I think Frolik is on the decline so I can see why Peters isn't just pencilling him in for a regular role on this team if he doesn't play well or 100% healthy. This is the ways it should be IMO as last season Gulutzan was gifting this guy way more ice time than he deserved. The team's record this season kind of speaks to how much better a feel Peters has for this team than Gulutzan so I'm certainly not going to critique a move like this.

Frolik is coming off a high ankle sprain, maybe had a little set back.

Derek Ryan is 32 today so the Flames will win 3-2.

Frolik was healthy scratched earlier in the year too. Don’t see this as all that shocking.

He is not the player he was two years ago but can still help the team down the stretch. Ideally his contract would be a year shorter I suppose.

I would have guessed you were right, but turns out he's played way more on the second line.

93 minutes with Backlund and Tkachuk, next closest combinations are ...

Ryan/Hathaway (4th line) 29 minutes
Ryan/Bennett (3rd line) 27 minutes

I'm with you though, I don't see him as a scratch, but really he's on the list with Neal, Bennett, Czarnik as potential top six round outs that have just not gotten it done consistently this year.

Czarnik - largely invisible
Frolik - lost a step?
Neal - can't buy a goal
Bennett - pace is a great, no production

To me Froliks value to the team goes way up when he is with Matthew and Backlund. So much chemistry in all three zones. Give me some 3M.

Rather watch Frolik on that line than Neal, Bennett or Czarnik, that's for sure.

It strikes me that Frolik wasn't supposed to come back when he did, so maybe it was too soon in hindsight, and he's giving him some more rehab time.

Probably a contributing factor is TOI/ game with second line vs 4th. Probably got 2-3x minutes per game with Backlund and Tkachuk

A lot of this has to do with seignority. Rick Ball is a rising star who should be calling national games every weekend. Kevin Quinn is a hack who is lucky to be calling NHL games at all.
