Mike Smith was done months ago. Still done today.
He’s done.

Why he is starting with the Christmas break upcoming and Rittich rolling is beyond me. The leash the Flames are giving an aging goalie who's been the definition of average for basically his entire career is outrageous.

Puck should have been out long before the high lob. I agree Smith doesn’t look good. But can you say Rittich is rolling? He’s on a two game losing streak.

Refs love to call penalties on Sam Bennett.

Maybe Smith shouldn't wear red pads at home. Changing pads changed Elliott's home SV% iirc

It would make sense for the flames to try and salvage Jon Gillies in the NHL rather than try and salvage Mike Smith, which looks increasingly highly unlikely. The AHL team has no defense and as a goalie trying to develop that isn’t a good situation imo. It would make sense to at least see what Gillies can do as a backup in the NHL, can’t be worse than Smith.

They could have and that would have avoided a shot from a terrible angle - big deal. You expect the defense to be perfect, but accept the goaltender letting in shots ECHL goalies would save easily.

a 2-0 loss at Dallas and a shoot out loss in the 7th round to TB?
seemed pretty dialed in to me, despite not getting the results

I like Jon Gillies, but he doesn't deserve to be "salvaged in the NHL". Not with his play this year.
Pretty crazy idea. Nick Schneider has a 92.2% on the same team. Jon Gillies has 86.3%.
