3rd/4th line tweener i think is his upside.

Not many players are 6 year project player that have improved every year.

I think he will end up as a 'really good 3rd line C' like an Eric Staal pre-breakout. He has all the tools, reach and shot. If he ends up getting better in the faceoff dot and doesn't play like he's 5' 8" 150lbs he will stay in the league a long time.
I still contend it was a great pick for Calgary.

I think he'll be our Sami Pahlsson.

Solid third line centre, a bit more offensive upside but that's because the league has changed.
This isn't meant to be a knock, it's a compliment.

More of this please.
I watched a lot of games in my life and frankly, I've never seen a 1 on 6 goal. No other Flames player in sight!

All Jankowski needs is more consistency and confidence. He can skate through men at will, as demonstrated in the Coyotes game. He doesn't need to be a big hitter, he just needs to keep driving the net and using his frame to protect the puck.

He should watch Jagr video for puck protection. Or other big skilled (but not really tough) dudes who can protect the puck like Thornton, Andreychuk, and the like.

Bump.
What is Mark Jankowski?
A PK beast and a guy gaining a lot more traction. That trend is absolutely huge for this team.

Want to see more of that shot coming across the line as well.

Eric Staal had 100pts his second season.
I agree though I think Jankowski is likely a really good third line center who can contribute in other ways like special teams.

Love watching him prove himself. Janko is a smart, hard working player with a great stick and size. If he continues to improve in all facets and ups his physical game, which I expect he will, he can be a perennial Selke-type guy at 45-60 points/season.

I said this in the PGT, but I'll put it here too:
I'd be happy if he became a Colin Patterson--many similarities. If he is able to replace Backlund, I'd be ecstatic!

He’s a player who has slowly increased his production every year. He is definition of linear progression. He’ll never live up to the stupidly lofty “best player in the 2012 draft” comments from Feaster, but he’s been a great pick. Given his late blooming pedigree and slow but steady progression, who knows what his ceiling is?

I have been skeptical about Janko but he has played really well, particularly in the last 10-15 games. Great to see.

There is also something to say about how magnificently well the flames have handled Jankowskis development, slowly but steadily building him up to a bona-fide NHL player. They could have easily chosen another route with him, but kept with it, and it's paying dividends.

Backlund is still a valuable trade piece. If Tre thinks Jankowski can replace him, Backlund would prob fetch a mid 1st+ at the draft. Also freeing up space for Tkachuk and Rittich signings.
Not saying we should do this because I really like Backlund on this team, but it is a possibility.

PK specialist. Eventually Backlund 2.0 with a slightly better shot.

I think you're looking at a similar player to Brian Boyle with perhaps some more offense.

At least he's better than the 2012 1st overall pick
