Let Smith play against the East if you have to.
 |
That's just ridiculous. The best thing for the Flames is to get Smith going because as good as Rittich has played in the first quarter, he is going to slip at some point.

Coaches understand that while winning every game is the goal, it is just simply not going to happen. There is no urgency at this time of the year, and the best teams will pace themselves over the course of a long season. Sunday may be a divisional game, but it is also just another road game in November. If Rittich plays tonight it will be his fourth start in a row. Starting Smith in Phoenix looks like a perfectly natural place to get him a game—which is still something the Flames need to do.

 Anyone else here?

Nice! I am here too. Will be wearing my Kipper retro up in sec 215. The sportsbook odds are tempting me to make a bet though, might even head to hooters and make a reverse puck line bet. Seriously why is Vegas favoured in this game? Cause they are gonna want to respond to the last game?

On TSN there is NFL, CFL, F1, Grand Slam Tennis, Raptors, and First Take. Yes I watch 2 hours of that loud mouth dbag Steven A Smith everyday!

I watch only hockey on SN. It's still a far superior streaming service. Even after games are completed, they are still available to be watched in their entirety for a 24-hour window.

I think it's also great game to setup against the Kings and Blackhawks as well. Against his former team, Smith has an opportunity to earn B2B games, and Rittich getting a rest from 11/28 to 12/04 could pay big dividends in the 4 games that follow (CLB, MIN, NSH, EDM).

When in Vegas always bet on the Flames to win. Isn’t that the point of being a fan? Unless you’re there for 40 games a year I suppose in which you have to pick your spots.

For me that’s half the fun of Vegas is to have a little extra riding on my team. Sports gambling is pretty much a crapshoot anyway but watching games at the Caesar’s sports book is about as much fun as being there live. You get to experience both. Lucky!!

Glad smith isn't getting a start.
Would love to see Rittich play out of his mind and keep the net.

Give smith the kings and eastern teams, it's not only that he is bad and has been all season and the end of last, but his teammates play better in front of rittich... maybe the whole actually collecting the puck yourself thing is beneficial???

That is the name he has earned within the locker room.

Mike Pfeil at Flamesnation started calling him that. Internet picked up on it as did HNIC.

Did it come from the locker room originally? I thought it was Mike Pfeil who started it and caught on with both CP and Reddit quickly. Then he sent a Tweet to HNIC After Hours during Rittich's interview asking about it, and it caught on with both Leslie/DeBrusk.
The next game, Flames had a small little clip of Rittich wagging his finger in an "I don't think so" manner, followed by the words "BIG SAVE DAVE" flashing by.

Unless your superstitious like me and feel like every time u bet on your team they lose. Needless to say I put 100 on the Flames reverse puck line at +300 so it could end up being a great night!

I can’t imagine having small kids and being a hockey fan prior to DVR’s. Almost every game I watch is delayed until after bedtime, or sometimes work.
