To be fair, I’m pretty positive that 2 on 1 one-timer hit the side of the net.

Got home in time to see the last few minutes and then the OT. Hate the SO's with a passion and think it's gimicky way to end the game.

To sprinkle a bit of positivity tonight, I thought Andersson was fantastic. I’m really excited about him.

Had a ton of chances in last minute of third and OT to win.

I agree. He keeps getting better. More confident handling the puck.

I'd like to see him playing with Gio on a permanent basis.
Brodie they can trade.

Razzy is awesome, he definitely helps make some of these games more watchable.
Are we calling him Razzy? I'm not sure. Andersson is way too boring.

I hate Gio on the powerplay, he absolutely takes the worst shots...

I hate PPs in OT, as it leads to boring ass 4-4 after. Wish they would just force a team to take a player off instead.

Doesn't make sense...

He was hired in 2014.
2014/15: Hiller 2.36 / .918
Ramo 2.60 / .912
2015/16: Hiller 3.53 / .879
Ramo 2.63 / .909
2016/17: Elliott 2.55 / .910
Johnson 2.59 / 9.10
2017/18: Smith 2.65 / .916
Rittich 2.92 / .904
Hiller’s career averages: 2.55 / .914
Ramo’s career averages: 2.85 / .906
Elliott’s career averages: 2.47 / .912
Johnson’s career averages: 2.66 / .909
Smith’s career averages: 2.71 / .912
Rittich’s career averages: 2.82 / .910
Aside from Hiller’s 2nd year here and Smith last year, none of the goalies key stats waver too far from their career averages. Not to say this is a glowing review of his work, because we’d be looking at an improvement if he was a great goaltending coach (see Sean Burke’s disciples) but maybe all of the goalies we’ve seen since Kipper just aren’t good goalies?

So much Elliott vibes with Smith, a softy a game is becoming expected. Teams with good goaltending don’t have that issue. Like always, goaltending is gonna be the thing that breaks this team unless Rittich becomes a starter or they trade for someone. Smith just does not have it anymore, he’s close to being out of the league. This team needs to find a goalie or it’s another season down the drain guaranteed. I just don’t see a 36 year old goalie having a major turn around when he continuously looks uncomfortable in net. He has good reactions but his positioning is really odd, just not a starter anymore.

Give Rittich more starts. Smith certainly does not merit all these starts.

The thing is he should be able to do that much more often than he does. He made those saves due to being in line with shooter and tight to the post. That is just starting goaltender technical soundness.
When he starts being dramatically reactive like he did in the shootout attempt, he opens up massive gaps like the five hole there.
I know he likes to steal the spotlight but less theatrics and more technique from Smith would go a long way to helping the team win.

I'm not sure there's a worse shootout team in the league but if there is a team or two worse than the Flames they must be really, really bad.

Czarnik was better, so was Brodie. The Dube-Lindholm-Neal line had a few good shifts and if Dube wasn't cursed they should have scored a few. Hamonic had a few big blocks and looked more comfortable.
They are on the right track. Now they have to go and beat Toronto!

No doubt, Smith was good the second half of the game however you’re not going to see many people giving him props when his play in general so far this year has earned him zero good will. Not a lot benefit of the doubt in his bank account given how subpar he’s been.
