I'm excited just by the prospect of a blank slate and being tied for first with 30 other teams and seeing where the season goes. Lots to be optimistic about.

For this week... Life after the Sedins for the Canucks.

They might not beat half the teams in the AHL.... what a terrible roster.

Most excited about hockey being back to distract me from the gong show associated with living so close to the Trump administration.

Sean Monahan. I think we could see him elevate to a 40 goal 90 point beast of a center. What he did last year with all the physical adversity he faced leads me to believe he is capable of being a dominant player

icon57 What are you most excited about?

Hometown boy Matthew Phillips could be a real game breaker for the Flames, it's only a mater of time before he is recalled.

Now that we're into the break, I thought it might be interesting to bump this thread and see what people were excited about at the start of the season compared to what has actually transpired - an amazing season, probably beyond what any of us were willing to imagine!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at this point of the year. I really REALLY wanted to see a full season of what Chia could do, it seemed like he was just hitting his stride.

Amazing the difference coaching makes with generally the same group of guys, a few upgrades, addition by subtraction, and what seems to be overall great chemistry
