I get that's your opinion, but nothing in the preseason has indicated to me that Peters will deviate from Backlund as the #2C with Thachuk on his wing.

Taking into account seeming givens from Peters plus my preferences, I'd like:

Tkachuk-Backlund-Neal
Bennett-Jankowski-Czarnik
Dube-Ryan-Frolik

With the tendancy to move the right side around given game flow and situations

I don't think there's much love for Hathaway, Lazar or Peluso but logic dictates at least 1 and more likely 2 of them make the team.

If all 3 do I will be extremely disappointed in management.

While I generally agree with the sentiment, I think this is over-stated.

The Flames have played a ton of hockey and the vets are ready. One more game for Monahan, Backlund or Neal is not going to move the needle on their preparedness for Wednesday.

Also, after the trip to China, it can probably be argued that a break (almost a week from the Thursday game in SJ) would probably do them more good than one more pre-season game.

Finally, I think the play of the kids has surprised the team in a positive manner - they have earned longer looks. And it is good for the team.

Pretty much.

Theres what 8, 9 preseason games? And your nhl lineup/lines are together for the last two (maybe not even cause bubble guys that haven't earned it will get injected today and mix up those lines again).

It's been obvious for the better part of a week that Kulak, Lazar and Hathaway have lost their starting spots to Vali/Andersson and Dube.

Take that lineup, replace Peluso with Neal, replace Dube with Monahan, then decide whether it's Mangiapane or Dube on the Ryan line, and there's your opening lineup IMO.
