If that's actually going to be an issue then you might as well send Jankowski back down to the AHL too.
It's a valid argument.

Not all lines are going to get equal icetime. PP and PK are going to eat into it. If Dube is on the 4th and not on the PP or PK his icetime is going to be limited.

Dube seems like a perfect type of player to be on the PK. Anyone know if he played any PK in junior?

I'll admit, I'm a big fan of Czarnik after watching him.

I read somewhere that 2/3 of the league inquired about Austin Czarnik.

He has done a lot of the right things so far. I think before making the team he has to continue against more NHL caliber teams. If he is still buzzing near the end of preseason when more established nhl teams are played, then Treliving has some tough decisions.

He definitely hasn't hurt himself with his play.

With the way he was puck handling around defenders with speed, threading passes and shooting (namely that laser that went bar down and out), I'm not surprised.

Has eerily similar numbers in the AHL/NHL to Marchessault just before he broke out. At the same age too.

He made Bear look like a pylon last week. This kid has talent.

I'm starting to think the team might better be thought of as lines, 1, 2, 3a, & 3b. Does another team have as much talent at the "4th" line?

Jankowski -Dube - Bennett

Nothing but 3 guys out to play for a point to mean something on this roster.

Gives you this.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm 1A
Tkachuk - Backlund - Neal 1B
Jankowski - Dube - Bennett 3A
Mangiapane - Ryan - Lazar 3B

Frolik on the "4th" line seems like such a waste. The 3M line was outstanding.

We've never been able to say that before. It's nice to have enough depth that a player could be too good for the 4th line.

It was, but I think the speed of the game may be starting to pass Frolik by, and it seems a waste to perpetually bury Tkachuk in defensive zone starts.

What, no Bennett at all? He's at least a 4th liner over Rychel.

I don't know how to embed but check out this video of Czarnik! Moves a bit like JG. Having 2 guys like that would be interesting!

I agree. I like Frolik but he's slowed a tad and guys are starting to pass him. Nothing wrong with a solid vet on the 4th line, it's not like the old days where 4th liners are plugs and goons

Gaudreau-Monahan-Neal
Tkachuk-Backlund-Lindholm
Bennett-Ryan-Frolik
Dube-Jankowski-Czarnik

I'd kind of like to see how these lines work once the main team is back from China. I have a sinking feeling though that Dube gets Jankowski'd for a few months, so a useless plug like Peluso or Hathaway can get victimized by McDavid and Getzlaf and chuck knuckles with one of their goons when the score is out of hand. Happens every year.

I think Peluso was signed to teach Lucic a lesson for punching Smith. Hathaway is a waste of money he is no fighter.

I could be convinced to trade him for decent picks and/or goaltending.

I like that lineup, but I would switch Frolik to the left and Ryan to the right, putting each on their natural side, and try Bennett at centre with these quality wingers, as well as swapping Czarnik with Neal to help Monahan out with draws as his wrist continues to heal and strengthen.

Oh, what the heck, just about any combination you can come up with sounds good. Can't wait for the regular season!
