No regrets. I wish I would have done things differently, but everything has led me to where I am today and I love my life.

Amen to both. I don't have regrets and I generally like my life I have now (I wills top short of saying love - I love my family life but my career not so much). I still don't know what I want to do with my life and I'm approaching retirement.
That said, I do wish I would have done the following while I was young and had the chance:
1. travel after finishing university
2. done some of my university abroad
3. pursued my childhood dream of being a pilot, and in particular joining the air force.
I regret not understanding sports psychology better when I was actually playing sports. I'm so much better at stuff now but so much older.
I'm not sure this is a regret of mine, but back when I played hockey I would have been 10x's better if I understood the game and the little details like I do now. I gave up on it a tad early too.
I regret dropping out of college to work in the oil patch...I've had a pretty successful career and made a bunch of money, but I sure missed a lot being away 75% of the time.
I also regret giving up on hockey too early. I may not have made it anywhere but I had a good opportunity that I turned down, so now I'll never know.
I regret marrying my first wife. Lots of red flags and yet I took her back and married her because she begged me and I was weak. So glad we did not have kids. I feel like those years were wasted.
I regret losing my autographed Kent Nilsson hockey card.
This thread reminds me of the Up Series of films.

Being interested in Sports and choosing lousy sports teams like the Expos, Flames and Chiefs as my favorite teams....I've got to enjoy so many championships over my 40 plus years on this planet.

Couple of regrets. Should have bought property in Canmore in the late 80s when I was working out there. Could have easily afforded it, would have made a tidy profit or had a nice weekend place.
Also regret not going to France when I graduated University. I wasn't having much luck finding a job, but had a bit of cash in the bank to live off of. My dad was living in Versailles and I could have gone over and stayed him and traveled a bit. Instead I stayed around and ended up getting a job sooner than expected so money wouldn't have been a problem. Would have been a blast to hang out with my dad for a month in France.

- marrying my high school g/f. she was very jelous and it never got better. marrying her had a massive negative impact on my life in high school and my mid 20's
- regret not pursuing post secondary education - having a jelous g/f really made me make dumb and short sighted choices
- not doing more crazy stuff with an ex g/f. I am talking like skydiving and ridng a roller coaster, also, she would have been into other stuff as well
- I sometime regret coming to Calgary. I lived in Ontario before this and I really enjoyed my life as I had a good circle of friends, getting to/from work was easy
- I regret the fact hat I have not taken the tiem to ride the high rockies trail yet - although I suppose I could try for that on sunday

I regret calling a option play and giving my QB too much freedom in the City semi finals a couple of years ago. I should have kept things simple and just run the ball from the 5.

But I definitely missed out on the experience.
I hit the Den, even met some CPers there and people who are now CPers. ( You know who you are!)
During that time I visited my friends all over the country who went away to school and I was intensely envious of that experience.
I've made a conscious effort to ensure that my kids dont make the same mistakes, so I've got 2 in Lethbridge and 1 in Kelowna.
Because I never really became immersed in that University culture. I just showed up, took my classes, wrote my tests and then either went home or to work.
Nothing special.

All I've got to say is thank god for the Stampeders and even at that there's been a lot of misery in the big game.
Part of me wishes I had stuck with journalism in college. It seemed like a depressing, corporate-controlled and irrelevant career back in the late 90s, and now when I see the amazing important independent journalism going on out there, I wish I was part of it.
On the other hand that one change would have changed everything that followed in my life, and there's far too much I love about my life today to go back and change something.
Leaving trivial regrets out (e.g. not investing in high-flying stocks when they were cheap etc.), I have deep regrets of not being kinder and more forgiving towards my mother when she was alive and healthy. I do really regret not doing more fun stuff together with my children, when they were growing up; simple things - like camping together, playing anything together, going out together more, volunteering together, watching movies together, even eating together more ...
