So... much... whinning...

It wasn't that bad a trade, maybe a bit overpay but it happens. People acting like the sky is falling. I think trade made us deeper.

Yeah, I'm on board now. Terrible trade by Treliving, Hamilton will make this management look ignorant over the next ten years.

What a dumpster fire this franchise is. Honestly, neither us nor Edmonton deserve a team. Both are terribly run franchises that don’t deserve to be in the league. If this were soccer, both teams would have been relegated down to division three by now.

Flames have really good back end prospect depth and this trade didn't hurt that much.
If this trade was reversed, you would be saying the opposite. The grass is always greener where you sit.

This is just such a terrible take

We just acquired a franchise D and a top 6 winger. How is this a dumpster fire?

A bad trade is a bad trade, players might be good but Treliving didn't max out the value of the players he gave up. Even if Hamilton wanted out and Fox wasn't going to sign here, you max their value. Said it before, man zeros in on his targets and then they are a must-have.

Let's assess BT after US Thanksgiving. He probably isn't done and maybe this coach and new roster are the winning formula.

But this post season feels WTF to me.

More of a lurker, but this one doesn't look too good. In fact, this entire draft is a tough situation.

We have a team that missed the playoffs and didn't have a pick until the 4th round.

We essentially paid 3 first round draft picks and a high level prospect for Lindholm and Hanifin. (If you want to argue signability issues with Fox, then let's call it 3 1st round picks)

We have a new coach that has never made the playoffs as a HC.

As a whole, this situation is not very inspiring. I hope i am wrong, but Treliving has been given a very long leash by some. He needs a very short leash (like serious goals set for this season) or a change is needed.

Thumbs up

People sure are getting upset about Fox, Treliving knows more about the situation than we do. Did Fox tell him that there was no way he was going to sign in Calgary! And if he did, what happens to his trade value when that little tidbit gets out, sounds like he may have made the best out of a bad situation, it will all come out sooner or later, and I’m sure it will be sooner than later!

I was never a big Hamilton fan but I too liked Ferland, but you need to make changes after missing the playoffs not make excuses like the tire fire up north, at least Treliving doesn’t have us in that predicament!

Wait, what? Hamilton was a 1st+2nd+2nd.. are you saying Ferland = 2x1st?

Clearly, I'm being obtuse here, but I don't think I'm the only one.

We still need a goalie. Smith is not the answer and he's old plus we need someone young long term to take over or at least play 30 games next season maybe. Gillies is good but I'm not sure Treliving will resign him

I don’t understand the Fox was “thrown in” narrative
He was an important part to get the deal done
Like the deal or dislike it but let’s not pretend Bt just threw him in there

At least hanifin is young enough that he can be a part of the rebuild after BT is inevitably fired.
