Love how CP tries to sneak Brouwer into every deal. Keep fighting the good fight.

We are talking about the Hurricanes, maybe Treliving does a fleece job and gets the #2 pick.

I view Lindholm as a "Backlund-to-be" with more offence. Therefore, I would do Backlund + Sam + Brodie for that package, and then use the ~$8M saved on something else.

To me, moving out Hamilton and only getting back Hanifin puts us in a spot where we'll still need to find another Hamilton somewhere in order to win a Cup.

I doubt the flames trade Backlund so soon after signing an extension. It doesn't bode well for the organization if a player signs a long term contract in good faith, and soon after the team uses him as a trade chip.

"It's not show friends, it's show business."

...or something else that makes more sense than that.

I would go for a more evened out roster on attack
Gaudreau-Monny-Lindholm
Ferland-Backs-Frolik
Tkachuk-Bennett-Shore
Mangiapane-Lazar-Brouwer

Definitely make sure you make room for Shore, Mangiapane, and Lazar in the lineup ahead of Jankowski.

I don't know about that. I see 3 lines potentially struggling to score and Tkachuk being wasted.

I wouldn't want to do the bigger deal involving Hamilton. I hope they just try and get lindholm. Bennet + kylington?

My issue with throwing in Bennett is that we still don't really solve the offensive problems in that trade unless Zykov turns out to be a player. Not that Bennett's been filling the net...but at least is a current NHLer.

It’s probably Brodie for Lindholm.

How many defencemen do they need?

Carolina is pretty deep on defence so I don't think they'll bring one in without giving one up. Hamilton for Lindholm and Hanifin is a great deal for the Flames imo. If I'm the Hurricanes, the upgrade from Hanifin to Hamilton is NOT worth giving up Lindholm. As a Flames fan, I'd take that deal and run.

I wonder if any young goaltenders are in play? I notice the Hurricanes have a number of them, but perhaps one of ours that is closer to being ready?

People that keep balking at aquiring another #1 or #2 C because we already have Monahan, Backlund and Jankowski make my head feel like its going to explode. Especially one who's got a right hand shot.

What the hell people? Never heard of a center playing the wing before?

If they trade Hamilton, they'd better get better return. Hamilton is by far the best player in this deal. They need to get an elite forward and neither of these guys are elite.

If we get Lindholm there is practically no way Janko or Ferland is not going the other way.

I don’t see how the Flames are getting Lindholm for Brodie thst doesn’t seem like a player the Canes would covet.
