Hmmmmm....
Doesn't Titov still live in Calgary during the off-season?

To see if one of the two much more accomplished, proven and available coaches could be a better option, perhaps? I mean, clearly, they have not been available in 2016, if you think that’s when he has really made his choice. And how could he had known the content and outcome of those interviews? I get it, you support the choice and you 100% believe in Treliving’s wisdom, but that is a huge stretch to suggest that it was unquestionably the only choice, as Treliving stated at the introduction ceremony.
Anyway, as I said earlier, I do agree with you on not beating this horse any longer. God knows, I truly wish to be proven all wrong on this critique.

I’m also taking a wait and see approach to this hire.
That said, just because he didn’t interview them doesn’t mean other coaches weren’t considered. Darryl and AV could have turned him down for interviews. There is a very good chance he and Tippett mutually don’t want to work together again. There is no indication Kruger even wants to come back to the NHL. Quenville and Trots didn’t end up getting fired. After that, who is left to interview? I think we are all agreed that a first time NHL coach isn’t desireable, given the teams problems under GG.
We’ll never have enough behind the scenes info to know for sure what the entire process was. Hopefully Peters works out and all this discussion is moot anyway.

Looks like Gelinas will not be the assistant coach next season, but will have an office job somewhere in the organization. I've heard it from a good source.

The assistant coach announcement is more exciting for fans than the head coach announcement seeing that was one of the worst kept secrets in the NHL.

I get it. You want to continue to be given the info so that you can drop names and create narratives on your program for months to come.
Still, I'm impatient so yeah, let's hear it.

There’s all kinds of reasons why he may not want to announce it. I don’t see the big deal with saying that he knows and that it will be announced soon.

Not to mention if he is asked to keep something on the down low then doesn't that person isn't very likely to give him info like that again
