Dunno guys, this is/was a real human being we're talking about here. We're all pretty funny dudes, but I don't feel like this situation is worth the cheap pun.

Guy probably had friends and family and people that loved him and yet people are making fun of the situation.

Such a weird story. How long could the body have been in there? How long would it take to die in there? Was it accidental or a suicide? Was the person ever reported missing?

you've never laughed at an idiot in your life, a Darwin award winner, or made fun of someone?
never made a fat joke or perpetuated a stereotype?

I'm pretty sure humor is a healthy way to deal with tragic situations. helps people cope.
doesn't mean they don't care about human life.

I think this is tempered by the quite amazing support shown in threads where people are actually dealing with loss. I mean was it wrong to sip medium dry sherry last night? Probably. But there's some genuine compassion here too.

I'm a lot more concerned with how terrible most of the puns have been.

Can anyone think of a way this guy ends up in a wall legally? If he was a worker or repair man, there's no way he goes crawling through the ducts without someone knowing. His boss, the manager of the building, someone. Guys like that don't disappear without people looking for them, and following the trail that starts with the tool bag by the open duct.

So I think it's pretty likely that he was not supposed to be there. Whether he was a thief, a pervert, or simply homeless and cold, he won himself a Darwin award. I don't think this is the place to be scolding the internet for lack of sympathy or the possibility that the family is reading it. Dumass kills himself - internet laughs.

Ironically, this is the place where I scold you for lack of sympathy for someone who may have been, as you put it, "simply homeless and cold", and for failing to accurately spell 'dumbass'.

Homeless and cold does not mean you crawl into a duct. And it's the least likely scenario, but also still illegal.

Also, I'm on the fence about how to spell dumass. The b looks weird. I know it's the correct spelling, I just don't like it.

Dumass is to close to Dumas though...which is how I end up pronouncing it in my head when I see dumass. And that makes me think of the French. Which reminds me of the Renault Craptaur I rented when I was there, and that just makes me angry, and a little sad that a company with an F1 team can't even make a CUV that has one redeeming quality. Though even with an F1 team, they can't find a way to beat their customer team, Red Bull which is just kind of sad. So maybe they aren't all that good at making cars after all. Bunch of dumasses. Ok, see? It works there, when you are talking about the French.

It had to of been after hours.
That's a busy place. If you fell and yelled someone would hear you pretty quickly.

You could probably even tough it out for a few hours until the mall opened. Then yell.

Guessing the guy fell and was fatally wounded, or there was drugs/alcohol which wouldn't help.

Really? I love this board and have been coming here daily for over 10 years but I've never once considered it a hilarious group. There are a lot of posters who are intelligent and I appreciate reading their viewpoints but I've never once considered this a funny place.
