I assumed Flames GM now reports to Maloney who reports to Ken King?
Yeah it seems a little murky. They suggested that Treliving would be dealing directly with ownership now and when listing the hierarchy had Maloney under the GM.

Given how things were worded this morning we can assume that the POHO role will blend into that of the GM with Maloney serving as Treliving's right hand man?
As much as you can read into the wording from the press release the hockey operations is now headed by Brad Treliving with essentially Maloney, Conroy, and Pascal as assistant GMs.
Maloney has a fancier title but so he is probably higher in the hierarchy. Similar to maybe a Coach, Assiocate Coach, Assistant Coach relationship.

What a great Friday to wake up to! Burke is stepping down (or fired) and it's gonna be frickin 23C out! Wooohooo! Just a beaut!
I thought he'd be a good replacement GM for Feister, but he didn't even do his job. The way Burke handled the arena situation with the City of Calgary, it just showed how useless of a businessman he is. Glad he's GTFO!
This had to happen. The NHL needs fresh blood and the old guard needed to be replaced with new thinking as the game has changed. I'm convinced that Burke's insistence on truculence and character over all else has contributed to our failures over the last 5 years and why we're not further ahead.
His charity work was likely as much or more as his work with the team was. He has his hands in ALL kinds of things away from the rink, so a media gig while being able to spend more time with his off-ice interests and his family in Toronto would make all kinds of sense.

See, I'm the opposite. I dont care how someone is dressed, I care about what they're saying.
The fact is that Burke's patented 'untied tie' is a disarming technique. It makes you focus on that and potentially take him less seriously giving him the upper hand.
So ignore it.
I think it says something about how professional you take your position, and how professional you project the company you represent.
Go to a job interview for a professional job with green spiked hair and see how that goes for you.
I don't think dismissing someone for being unprofessional gives him the upper hand.
Now, if Burke had done a magnificent job, people overlook his appearance. The fact he didn't makes his appearance an issue.
