How fun would it have been to have attended that game in Vegas tonight?

Alright, for the first time the whole season, now I believe.
That being said, good lord, can the Sharks get a call? I'm sure DeBoer will be restrained in the media but he must be furious, at his team of course but also the officials did the Knights plenty of favours. I have no idea how you get any momentum if you can't touch anyone on the other team without going to the box.
If the Sharks don't come out flying in game 2, the only explanation is that they're just not good enough.

The Knights are like the 04 Flames.
They aren’t a team. They’re a cult.

Exactly. What is going on in that dressing room is unreal. I wish we could have an HBO camera in that room for the entire season.

The Knights are also getting a hell of lot of puck luck, everything is going their way right now.

Sharks look weak and soft, they better get engaged and stop the river hockey or it'll be 8 in a row for the knights

Golden Knights are the real deal. They've been playing that great 5-on-5 hockey that we saw in that Sharks first period massacre from the start of the season. Golden Knights in 5 or 6. If the third period was any indication, the Sharks will try and line up 4 guys at their own blue line and the Knights will find a way to go around that defense.
That was an exciting fast paced 10-minutes to start the first game between the two teams. It's just amazing to see one team pulls ahead and put the pedal to the metal throughout most of that game. That was great hockey.

Reason: Dislexic between pedal and metal ;)

Every player on that Knights team was told "we don't want you" by their previous employer. Including the coach.
There isn't going to be any other team that will be able to match their emotional strength or cohesion. It's a wolfpack.
They might be beaten by more talent.. but even then they have a bona fide goalie who can outplay anyone in a single game.
I don't envy the Sharks. Or whoever the Knights meet next round.

Maybe this is why Brouwer kinda showed up this past season with the Flames, huh? He was left out to get picked up and absolutely no one wanted him! LOL

This was exactly my thought last night while watching the game. I was actually imagining the pep-talk Gallant gave to the team on the first training day. Something in lines of: "Let's face it, all of you here are rejects and outcasts, and that includes myself too. Let's show those mo...ers what a mistake they'd made!.."

I doubt anyone who is in that dressing room would really get pumped up by use of the “rejects and outcasts” yarn at this stage of the season. It might have worked back in the early days of the season, but anyone who knew anything about the draft process would have known that it was a bit of a stretch even then. Most, if not all, of the teams were forced to put players on that list that they didn’t want to lose, and that describes most of the players chosen.

I think this is precisely the point, though. I maintain that those early weeks of the season—including what was going on in Las Vegas in October—were absolutely seminal to bringing that team together and making them who they are today. It may no longer be a point of reflection, but it was likely a crucial point of galvanization that has been reconfirmed time and again as the Knights have continued to surpass expectations.
