Not me that's for sure.
They did get a contributor almost right away in Debrusk. They having young guys step up as everyday/reliable NHLers out of nowhere was just a complete surprise. McAvoy is awesome but who even knew about Danton Heinen before this season? Is that even a real person?

Foligno takes a slapper straight to the face. That’s gonna leave a mark.

I loved that Kadri hit after Wingels got the elbow up. Eye for an eye.

Yeah. Not only did they get a better forward late in the 1st round of 2014 than we did at 4th overall they also got a better one in the 4th bloody round too and hes a center to boot.

I haven't seen enough of Yanni Gourde to know if he's a good player or not, but he definitely has a top quality name.

Most of want makes them successful was put together long ago. He still blew that draft, they could be even better

Lightning take game one. Taylor Hall is going to have to score five a game for New Jersey to have any chance.

I wonder if Brodie for Kadri is an option too. Same age, similar contact.

They had key pieces still in place for sure. Two very good centers in Krejci and Bergeron and a star winger in Marchand, and a stud in net like Rask were a great start. Plus Krug on the blue line and a leader like Chara, who still gets the job done.

But they were able to supplement their team with the 2014 draft.

They got Pastrnak and and Heinen who are already huge contributors. Especially Pasta. They also have Donato and Bjork who are on the roster.

We got Bennett, McDonald, Smith, Hickey, Ollass-Mattsson and Caroll. LOL

Good teams supplement their core through the draft, the Flames do not.

Imagine if the Bruins hadn't ####ed up the Seguin trade and blew the 1st round of the 2015 draft. They could have had Barzal, Connor and Boeser FFS.

Is that Cassie Campbell on the NBC broadcast for the Predators game?

Edit: it isn't thankfully. At first it sounded like her which seemed really weird.

I love Cherry trying to justify Kadri's hit.

No Don, Kadri could have still dropped his gloves and gone after Wingles.

Exactly they already had top talent

Hindsight drafting is easy though...any team in the league would have picked Bennett at 4. Just bad luck for the Flames, so far anyway.
