I feel bad for everyone who picked this as their first round "upset" forgetting that Elliott plays for the Flyers.

What kind of idiot doesn't start Mrazek 10 times out of 10 when you have Elliot as the other option.

In Mrazek's last ten games, his GAA is 4.02, his save percentage is .865.
He's not really a much better option.

Surprised to see so many think/thought this will be a tough series. I felt this was such a slam dunk Penguins win I didn't even check the thread

Not much but hilariously those numbers ARE better than Elliott in game one
Five bad playoff games in a row for Elliott

Murray should he shutout the Flyers tonight would be the first goalie in NHL history to register shutouts in 4 consecutive playoff games.

Good adjustments by Philly so far. Lots of simple clears out of their zone -- they failed so many times in Gm 1. A lot of active sticks interrupting passing lanes. Physical play is interrupting Pittsburgh's cycle and speed. Elliott letting the puck hit posts instead of go in. And the powerplay clicks!

Help, save, whatever.

I guess one game doesn't make a best-of-seven series?
Here's hoping for similar results in other series.

Game 3 thoughts:
Too many dumb penalties. 3 highsticks, 1 too many men. Good news is that is unlikely to be repeated. The other penalties were of the also weak variety; not from sustained Pitt pressure. Pitt PP is indeed lethal; PHI PK has been terrible all year. So gotta be more disciplined. Over the year, PHI was bottom 3rd for penalties taken; top 3rd in penalties drawn; PITT was the opposite.
Elliott didn't look great. I blame him on the wraparound -- poor positioning. The Dumolin goal he was flailing around, too, as on some other shots. What can you do. The defense sometimes gets out of place. Good goalies stay composed and calm their team down. Elliott is the opposite.
5on5 I've been very happy these last couple games. Still very much in the series.

Crosby only 2 pts shy of equaling McDavids playoff total from last season... in 3 games. Don’t let anyone tell you #87 isn’t the best player in the league.

I wonder if Sid knows it gonna be a long season and conserves his energy during the regular season for the playoffs.
Not a lot of people have played more hockey than Crosby in the last few years.

What makes Crosby who is he is he doesn’t conserve energy for a single day of the year. The guy is constantly putting in work to improve, and most people would argue he doesn’t even need to improve.

Gudas collides with Couterier at practice. Looked bad for Couterier. Gudas was taking a pass in another drill when the collided. Looked bad.
