annoyingly great players in their prime.
hats off to a couple of great careers. Winning back-to-back Art Ross Trophies was an incredible feat.

Hard to believe that Taveras will go as far from home as he can (and on a rebuilding team) simply for the most money.

Idk why but this makes me really sad. I guess its cause it marks the end of the early 2010s flames vs canucks rivalry. Iginla and Kipper vs the Sedins and Luongo. Gonna miss it.

Who is there to hate on the roster - it is the most blasé roster in the league. At least with Burrows and Kesler they were legitimately jerks to play against and crossed the line many times. This version of the Canucks don't have any of that at all.

Wouldnt it be funny if at the last second one of them decides not to retire and goes on to win a Cup.
Talk about awkward family events...

Great athletes. Love that they player their career with one team which in my view, elevates their career vs. chasing a Cup with multiple teams in their twilight.

I'm glad the Canucks lost in the finals. But deep down I always felt the Sedins deserved to win one at some point.
Best of luck to them in retirement and for not dragging out another season when they likely would have been ''Sundin'd'' for not accepting a trade, even though they've made it quite clear that they aren't going anywhere. I don't think I've seen any 2 players who have had greater chemistry then the Sedins. The fact they both won MVP and Art Ross awards one after the other is pretty astonishing and will likely never be replicated unless another super pair of twins come along.
The NHL likely won't see another set of twins like them for a long time so in that sense I'm sad to see them go. But as a Flames' fan, thank god. They can finally stop dispy-doodling around the offensive zone and potting in some crazy no-look pass.
Easily HOF players.

Weaksauce.
Where's the will to win? I guess they wanted to stick together, no matter what. If they left, they'd most certainly be separated.

The Canucks have to be a front-runner for Tavares with all the cap space they have now.

You'd think he'd be tired of playing for perpetual losers.

Probably a long shot at best.
Players like Tavares don't sign with bottom feeder teams unless they have been playing for those teams their whole career.

And of course I have to thank them for providing me with one of my all-time favorite playoff moments:

|
That brief moment to me was a microcosm of why the Bruins were able to come back when they were on the ropes. Canucks had them, 3-2 in the series, and had to win just one of the next two games and the Canucks were playing the best they ever had maybe outside the playoffs that led to the loss against the Rangers (1994? 1995?).
Then comes game 6, Marchand soft-speedbags a Sedin and there's no hint of push-back from him. That is exactly why they lost the series. Hockey is not a gentleman's game, its war, especially in the SCF. Sometimes you have to stick up for yourself.
Its what I'll remember most about the Sedins. Had Daniel dropped his mits at that moment and gave it his all, win or lose a fight, I think that would have inspired the team to win the series.
Great guys though. Their next stop is the Hall of Fame and jersey retirement.

I think the Canucks have to be careful as they may be used by Team Tavares to increase the offers from other teams, although that could be a good tactic in itself. Team Tavares has to be careful or the player might wind up in Vancouver on a team with a long way to go.

They only got into hockey because there's no money in professional diving. :P
Interesting that it sounds like they're staying in Vancouver and not going back to Sweden. I guess if the Sedins have kids that become hockey players, they will be eligible for team Canada. O_o
