look at the posts on the board these past couple weeks. the way the management and players are getting ripped, you'd think they are 20 points out of a playoff plot and the team is a disaster.

it's been a frustrating and disappointing year for flames fans, but after all that the team is only 2 wins out of a playoff spot.
nobody should have jumped off the bandwagon as badly as many have.

Pretty sad when Oiler fans have more faith in the flames playoff chances than most of you do.
We are sitting 3 points out of a playoff spot with no 1st round pick. Unlike Oiler fans we want our team to do well and are not satisfied by being the biggest loser at the end of the season with a 1st overall pick. Pretty sad Oilers fans need to come here to feel better about that dumpster fire up north. I pity them.

I think management deserves a lot of blame for this. Treliving traded this year's 1st and 2nd for Hamonic - which was a move clearly intended to put the team over the top. That re-set the fanbase's expectations. It's looking like a pretty awful deal - especially when the Flames have decent organizational depth at D.

@DarrenWHaynes: David Rittich has only played once in the last 13 days. That type of inactivity is how things were when he was backing up Mike Smith and that is when the young Czech has been at his best this season.

All Oiler fans care about right now is getting Dahlin.

seriously.
nothing I said has anything to do with the oilers other than the fact I cheer for them.
merely commenting that there is no need for so many of you to have jumped off the bandwagon and trashed your own team and management as bad as many have.
and they are two wins away from being in a playoff spot. win tonight and only 1 point out. have some faith.

I said nothing about the flames being losers, or about drafting.

your go to response on this board is to be insulting and take shots. as usual
you're a good example of the expression "consider the source"

that's about as true as all flame fans think is that the best GM they've had in 25 years should be fired if the playoffs are missed.

Oilers are in lottery territory once again. They are cheering for losses as usual and why wouldn't they? They have been in this spot for the past 10 years, they hosting another draft party?

10 wins and a loss in OT probably does it too.

Really they need a 4 game win streak here in the 4 games against beatable teams. (BUF, OTT, NYI, EDM)

Then they will be at 82 points with 11 games remaining.

6-4-1 in those final 11 games with a largely tough in-division schedule would then put them at 95 points which likely gets them in a wildcard spot but they could still miss.

You really need these next 4 (and at they very least 3 of them) to have a chance though.

Pray to whatever God you believe in, because I have no faith that the Flames I have watched this season can win 12 of 15. I doubt they win 11.

My personal view is that there are good pieces on this team, but this coach can't get the most out of them and there were too many points dropped on stupid and stubborn decisions. Nothing makes me think we'll see different in the last 15.

Long off season ahead, IMO.

That's going to be tough. Sometimes it seems like Monahan, Ferland, Giordano and Hamilton are the only Flames who can get their shots off the ice.

These next four games make or break the season...

This team has really crumbled. The turning point was probably that fateful pass back by frolik with ~1:53 left in the third against Vegas. If we go on to win that game I think that gives this team anothe burst of confidence they just beat the best team in the conference and pull within 6 points of the division lead.

Instead we’ve lost 15 of the last 22 and we have no Mental strength.

Losses like that one at home to Vegas can be mentally scarring and I think that is one of the worst collapses I’ve ever seen the flames have in any game of the season... I just think that sort of thing sticks with you.

Also I’d i see the ####ing fourth line out on the ice in the last 10 minutes of a game we are trailing I will likely throw my tv out the window

That’s not true. Bennett often shoots over the net.

I expect a statement game from Rittich tonight. If he crumbles, his hope for NHL career might be dusted. Sabres are on 4-2-0 streak, this is gonna be hard game, discipline, special teams and goaltending are pivotal to get 2 points tonight. Glad to see Smith back with the boys. Lets do it, 3-0 Flames.

Play hard.
Get shots actually ON the net and NOT in the goalie's crest.
Rinse and repeat as often as needed.

Inevitably at 280 km the car starts chugging. Oh oh!
It is already like that. losing this game is like blowing a tire 2 miles after you pass the sign.

If I was a Sabres fan I would counter with:

Gaudreau - Monahan - guy
Tkachuk - Backlund - guy
guy -guy- guy
guy - guy - guy

Giordano - Hamilton
guy - guy
guy - guy
