Weird. This one was both Smith's fault, and yet he was the reason they stayed in it.

I railed on the Flames in the 1st but they made the necessary changes in the 2nd. The 3rd however? Aside from Smith's mistake that was inexplicable.

I wish I could say it would, but I’m not sure the powers that be of this franchise have the foresight to do what we all want them to do, and what might be plainly obvious to thousands of Flames fans. We’ll keep calling for the coaching staff’s collective heads, and we’ll keep being disappointed.

Yes, but you dump the coaches before you dump players. If it's the players after that then we're royally screwed and we rebuild yet again.

I think with three full days off after Sunday's game, that Gulutzan won't be coaching next Thursday.

Management has to step in to salvage the embarrassment of a potential lottery pick being given away.

Why did they go all in this season? What do they think they have?

@Fan960Steinberg
The #Flames managed just one shot at five-on-five in the third period. Obviously not going to get the job done.

Can we leave this brand of hockey in 2017 please? Let's start 2018 with a fresh beginning, a new coach. A new PP. A new PK.

...I'll dream.

At least we could come away from the season knowing they had the balls to try something and surely would perk up this fanbase that has largely fallen into a slumber.

But they don't want to pay 3 coaches so they won't.

I'm done. Nobody from Burke to the equipment guy should be safe at this point. Treliving invested future picks to make us a contender, pretty obvious things have completely gone South. 2017/2018 shaping up to be a massive failure for a franchise with an over abundance of failure already weighing on an exhausted fanbase.

Anybody have a clip of the Tkachuk/Kesler fight? It would certainly liven up the thread a little bit.

38 games ago I decided to get cable so I could watch the flames. My ROI is frustrating.

Yup, got a couple really good chances in the last minute. If Kesler doesn’t get his hand on Johnny’s pass, Monahan easily taps the puck into the open net. Tkachuk gets the tip, but it doesn’t hit a hole in Gibson. Monahan’s shot hits the goalie. At least 3 very high danger scoring chances to tie it.

Stajan and Brower with 11.5 and 12 minutes of Ice time is to much.

Steinberg gets so close to offering an actual moment of insight or commentary, and then he goes back to being Steinberg.

Big maybe.

It will not change without a major shakeup. I'd start with the coaching staff but that's very unlikely. Ive said it many times though, that pick for Hamonic is keeping treliving up at night and might be the impetus for a drastic move.

Jesus Christ couldn't coach this PP. It's become a head game with the players.

Eh, it was a frustrating penalty but the ensuing PK was worse. 3 Flames were rushing Fowler and yet he still passed through them to the slot for a quick tic-tac-toe. Completely unacceptable.

Smith made about 10 fantastic saves tonight and the Flames didn't generate anything in 39 minutes of the 1st and 3rd periods.
