Oilers are losing home games because of terrible special teams. And they can't score.

Not sure if anyone saw the graphic, but it said "Nashville Predators points after 31 games last year was 33."

Flames have 35 after 33.

We all know how the Preds did last year and where they are now.

I'm not trying to say the Flames are on the fast track to making a run to Game 6 of the SCF, more pointing out how things change in this league. I'm sure Preds fans wanted Laviolette out last year after their start. I'm sure fans were worried about a lost season. Things change and this is a long ass season.

The Flames aren't out of the playoff mix. They're not doomed if they don't make a change right now.

For as hot as their scoring was a few weeks ago, they are as cold right now. They out played the best team in the Western conference, hit 4 posts and couldn't buy a goal tonight. It sucks that it happened, but these are the ups and downs of a season. It's just the nature of this marathon that is a season.

To say they didn't play well tonight is foolish on your part. And right now, it should be more about how they're playing. They have undeniably turned a corner in their own end in the last couple of weeks and while it looks like it's come at the expense of scoring, they are still creating the chances. Pucks will go in.

It's funny, in the past 3 years, the team seems to have had more success with bad possession numbers than it has with good numbers. The shooting percentages have been abysmal this year, historically bad for some players. Clearly, the team has no confidence right now.

Preds got the breaks and we didn't. That to me pretty much sums up the game. Other than that we held our own against the Preds.

If you look at the replay in slow mo all 4 of those goal posts were in. It's so obvious that it's the league trying to screw us over and... wait this isn't HFOil.

NSH gets a lot of offence from their backend. What has CGY received from theirs? This is a big problem IMO

The guys must be frustrated. They mostly played a good game, but just can't finish or generate enough offence. This of course will eventually end, but it just sucks when it's happening.

To be honest, saying the PP failed would actually be generous to the Flames...

Flames are trending at less than 8% to catch a wild card spot. The season is getting close to being lost. If it gets to that point, the target for termination lands on Treliving. He shouldn't see the draft he squandered our first three picks in.

I think Monahan has a hand injury. Bobbling way too many pucks. Missing scoring chances, shooting wide. I think he's got a hand or wrist injury in the last 7 games.

I can discuss the stat line and lack of continued scoring. Or the 0 for PP.

Probably other things as well

They're not out of the playoff mix by any stretch, but with the moves they made in the off-season I think it's fair to say we need to have higher expectations than simply being a bubble team. I fully expected this team to be in the top two or three of this division.

They're really losing ground there.

you also know that the players wore gloves and used sticks, that doesn't qualify you to discuss what went on during the game
