I liked the movie! People are too critical of it. I thought it was fun.
My favourite part was when Professor X got cut in half by the lightsaber

I thought the way they killed Snoke was awesome, it just happened way too early in the film.

I actually think they should not have showed the light sabre being turned by Kylo.
Remove that part and just have him reach out his hand and make the gesture to turn the sabre on.
Feel like one of those scenes where a little but less would have been way more impactful without the foreshadowing of it happening.

The Last Jedi Spoiler thread
It was certainly “fun” at times, but from a Star Wars canon perspective I’m not just looking for an entertaining, one-shot popcorn film. Last Jedi leaves me somewhat doubtful about what Abrams is going to do with IX now, given the killing off of what seemed to be the trilogy’s overarching, puppet string-wielding antagonist. With the benefit of the backstory created by the prequel movies, we get to see a six film development and build-up of Palpatine’s character (despite no real appearance in IV), ultimately lending some real weight to his rise as emperor and eventual death.
The bottom line with the First Order now is that...these guys just don’t seem that intimidating. The Snoke character had some real promise in this regard (regardless of his history or where he came from) and I’m extremely surprised that he’s been ousted.

He actually is Luke Skywalker and force ghosts are unable to post in online web forums.
For TFA he didn't end up seeing it until over the weekend because he wanted to see it with his dad and opening night didn't work for that.
My guess would be the same thing this time.
I am interested to see if people enjoy this more on the second watch - once expectations are lowered and people know the plot isn't going to go the way they thought it was I think it will be better received.

Saw it last night and I'm still undecided. I feel like Snoke is now just a throwaway character. After a few years of all the theories and such, it seems like a letdown.
This movie literally left a clean slate for JJ to do whatever he wants. Last I heard he said that Episode 9 would tie in all the movies into a satisfying end.
I was supposed to go see it again tonight but I've had a couple things come up.
I have 1 D-BOX seat for sale in the ticket section for Crossiron Mills.

Did anyone else think this: when the first ATAT shot at Luke-ghost, the explosion of the red ground looked like Luke being blasted into gore and viscera? Just for the briefest second before I remembered this wasn't Tarantino's Star Wars and the ground was red too...

I liked the guy that tasted the salty ground. Wonder if he does that everywhere he goes.

The salty ground guy was a highlight. The guy walking by him had a tonne of gravity, too. I would have rather watched their storyline than the FinnRose.
Yeah, the kid in the stable fits right in to the one super janitor a movie timetable. I'm guessing that episode 9 he's the new Annikin, and he is a part of the weird moose races for an extended scene.

I think they only put in the line so that they could explicitly explain why you'll be seeing the red/brown dirty kick up even though they have the "white" surface callback they were going for to Hoth.

It's funnier if you don't attempt to reason it.

So at the end of the movie, it shows that Rey has the old jedi training books.
Meaning it was a pretty dick move of her to steal them from Luke when she left.
Disappointing.

Well considering that she literally had the books Yoda may have meant it as a dual meaning.

So I wasn't imagining that?? I thought I saw the kid force pull the broom into his hand.

I think the part I liked the least was Luke milking the quadraboobed giraffe thing and drinking the green milk. That was all sorts of awkward to watch.
I just saw a comment on that on Reddit and it reminded me of that scene. I had forgotten it ever existed.

Lol, that scene was so bizarre it took me out of the movie for a few seconds. My friend leaned over to me in the theatre and said "what the f*** was that?"
